Severe Server Lag, Despite Fast DSL (Internet) Connection

Hey guys, 

since i have Apex Legends (awesome game btw) I experience extreme server lag throughout every match. Matchmaking works fine but as soon as I find a match it starts:

(server-) freezes up to 10 seconds causing me to lag out and walk around without the server recognizing and after the lag im teleported back to the spot I was before. It is not only annoying, it really makes the game unplayable for me (sad bc I really love it) because this happens every 40 seconds or so. In between these freezes it feels fine. What startles me is that my internet is pretty fast (up: 40Mbps, down: 10 Mbps) and the ping to the servers are at around 40ms with 0% package loss (it says so in the Data Center). Additionally, my discord lags out for the exact same time, as well. A friend of mine lives across the street and we play together, he doesn't have these issues.

Sometimes someone in the house is on netflix, but that has never been an issue playing other games (BF1, PUBG, Insurgency, etc.).

I have already tried connecting to a different server using the Data Center.

here are my PC-Specs:

OS: Windows 10 Pro

CPU: intel Core i7 8700k

GPU: GTX 1080ti 

RAM: 16GB DDR4

    I'm having the exact same issue as you. Good internet connection but lag out every game and discord also lags at the same time. This is the only game that it happens on

    Hello, 

    You are not the only one and a lot of people have the same issues and mostly is because of the servers. I strongly think they use the same servers as EA does and their placement is quite stupid because it favors Western Europe and F..... Eastern part. Althought Germany has some of the worst internet connection in  Europe they will have 100% of time better ping than you because the servers are there. So no matter what spaceship you have for playing and 1gb speed internet connection , the problem is with them not with us. I hope they fix it but i doubt it because same problems are with Fifa and Battlefield also. I'm trying to find a solution but there is none. Its outrageos and tilting but what can we do , and its not devz fault , more of the investors , etc. because having more servers = more money invested. Hopefully this game will maintain its succes and they will invest in better and more servers. GL and HF playing Apex. The game is awsome too bad for the lag. Cheers!

    sad thing is I’m actually living in Germany and have okay pings ☹️ but apparently insane package loss idk why 

     yea it’s tilting bc I really enjoy the game.   Maybe they’ll fix the netcode and get better servers as you said 🙂

    It's not just your average ping in your case 40ms.. EA support has a tool to do some polling for min/max ping which really matters.

    You need to run it as administrator.. enter the ip for your region and click advanced in options to view poll test

    The server lag is very much present there's no denying.. In worst case i get over 250ms of difference between ping best/worst while my internet connection is calculated at 22ms ping

    Best thing to do is just play at other times and not during peak hours.. It's a bit like car traffic everybody wants to get on at the same time
