unable to search crossplatform players

I have Steam_PC and my friend is on a PS5 we are unable to search for each other in game to add in social.  we have toggled on and off cross-play.  anything else we can do.  I already submitted a ticket with EA they advised I ask this forum.  while they send my issue up
