From a Long-Time Battlefield Fan: Please Don’t Ruin What You Just Fixed
Dear Battlefield Team,
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for all the amazing work on Battlefield 6. The game looks fantastic and finally feels like the classic Battlefield experience I’ve been missing for years. Bringing back Firestorm was an excellent move — it really shows that you’re listening to the community.
I also hope you’ll consider bringing back some of the iconic maps like Caspian Border, Gulf of Oman, and Metro. Those maps are part of Battlefield’s DNA and bring back the nostalgia and atmosphere that defined the older titles.
What I personally find disappointing is the current state of the Assault Class. Without the defibrillator and med bag, it feels like a “loner” class without a real team purpose, while the Support Class now seems to have too much.
It would be amazing if the Assault Class regained its medic role, with the defibrillator and med bag returning, while the Support Class keeps the ammo bag. That would restore the classic team balance and sense of cooperation that made Battlefield great.
I also sincerely hope Battlefield doesn’t go too far in trying to attract Call of Duty players with operators, flashy weapon skins, and over-the-top characters. That’s simply not what Battlefield is about. The beta was amazing, the launch even better but season 1 with the new formula made me sceptic. Are we losing Battlefield again like 2042?
The current “Call of Duty formula” doesn’t even work well for Call of Duty itself — let alone for Battlefield.
The foundation laid by BF2, BF3, and BF4 still works perfectly today. Please build upon that foundation instead of trying to reinvent it. What made Battlefield special has always been its scale, tactics, teamwork, and realism — not flashy operators or cartoonish cosmetics.
You still have the chance, after the seasonal update, to get this right. Please listen to the community and stay true to what made Battlefield great in the first place.
Please don’t ruin it — you truly have gold in your hands.
Once again, thank you for all the passion and effort you’ve put into this game. It’s clear that a lot of love went into it, and I hope you see this message as appreciation from a long-time Battlefield fan who genuinely wants the best for this franchise.
Kind regards,
A long-time Battlefield fan
