Limit SNIPERs on Breakthrough

Hey,

For some weeks I am finding the situation regarding snipers horrible.

Each game of breakthrough there are 8-10 players on snipers on each side, for ATTACK Side this means a lot more negative, since those players arent doing much more anything, if they are at least doing drone job, that means something but thats still - player for attack side to obtain objective.

In the games I am playing on the mode, the numbers are always like this, so theres a chance thats why attacking side is having worse % win rate than def, because people doesnt want to play around the objective but play their own KDA hunt.

I would suggest to find a way to limit the snipers on attack side someway, so game could be more interesting, and more balanced for people who play the mode to get the objective, not because there are a lot of tickets to get kills.

  • Poor objective design contributes to the misery. It’s the same in a lot of Conquest maps. It’s why so many objectives and entire maps had to be overhauled in 2042. Lack of cover inside objectives and Poor map design. 

    When snipers and vehicles located 100+ yards from an objective can kill every enemy located inside the capture zone… yeah that’s trash objective design and terrible terrain design. Defenders never even have to PTFO by design!! WTAF DICE?!?

    Terrain(hills, gulleys, drainage ditches, trenches, bomb craters), sufficient amounts of  indestructible structures and sufficient amounts of post levolution debris located  inside capture zones should require defenders to actually have to get inside the capture zones in order to defend said zones.

    Oilfield and Manhattan Bridge are 2 maps which are I think around 30-35% wr attack side, because it tends to have 15 snipers in a team because people dont want to die and actually play out the 1st zone because its hard, and its pretty boring, not even that u cant have any cover, its because people tend to be trash or kda greedy and are feared to die for the objective

    Or, make the maps bigger with better design and make people learn how to snipe again without the range finder....I'm never going to be one for limiting classes on map because that's once again the Devs forcing us to play their way, but they need to fix the damned maps and game play.

    You dont need to limit snipers, you need to limit long distance rifles.

    Battlefield has always had a PTFO/sniper problem. To attack in breakthrough you need smoke and beacons, unfortunately you can’t carry both so you need to rely on teammates, and everyone knows you can’t rely on a blueberry and are lucky if you can count on your greenberry friends.  I play to win and am always at or near the top in objectives captured when attacking and it is annoying to have double digit captures only to see most of the rest of the team (including my buddies) having fewer than 5 because they are scared to run into an objective.

    Solution : If Sniper limit of 5 exceeded on attack side, make it that way that whoever choses RECON, for example every 5 or 6 player kill means 1 kill towards your kda, while 1 death means 1 death.

    So people will consider playing it if they cant boost their stat this way - maybe they will actually decide to be impactful and try to get the objective with the ''normal'' players

    Manhattan Bridge and Blackwell Fields are the 2 maps which is the most problematic, with 10 decent players you can push 1st objects which attack side isnt going through, but in 8/10 games u cant even get 1st object because of the 10-15 snipers in your team who arent doing **bleep** to get the objective.
