Major Issues Limiting Skill Gap & Player Count Retention in BF6 Farm Kills Game

Yo EA & Dice,

I’ve been playing BF6 currently at level 120. I’ve noticed several issues that significantly limit the skill gap, affect the player experience, and could eventually hurt the long term health of the game. Experience: COD, Fortnite, BF.

Below is my feedback based on consistent gameplay, along with concerns I’ve personally experienced, seen from streamers, players, and the wider community. And before you say “skill issue,” Fortnite is favored to mouse & keyboard, so you need to be good on controller and not rely on aim assist to keep up, especially in seasons where guns don’t have a scope and you have to bloom fight/tap fire and outplay a m&k player.

1. TTK Is Too Fast, Little Room for Reaction in Close Quarters

Right now the TTK is so fast that gunfights feel predetermined. There’s very little ability to react, outplay, or recover once you start taking damage. This removes a huge part of the skill gap. This also encourages camping. Also give players a hardcore mode for those who want the ultra fast TTK game mode.

2. Headshot Multiplier Is Too Low

Body shots currently outperform headshots. There is almost no reward for being more accurate or aiming for the head besides a sniper. Increasing the headshot multiplier a bit would immediately raise the skill ceiling and reward precision. Make the game more realistic, and this will also make snipers less overpowered and more balanced. This will also make hollow and synthetic bullets useful and not a waste of points. Now let’s cap DMR to 2 head shots a kill because then you get rid of snipers.

3. Helicopters and Jets Are Extremely Hard to Control on Controller

Aircraft feel nearly unplayable on a controller: Controls are too stiff or too sensitive, radar doesn’t function properly, and there’s no sense of awareness when flying. This discourages players from using vehicles that should be part of the Battlefield identity. Someone who is new should not struggle just to fly with out crashing.

4. Footstep Audio Is Almost Non-Existent

In multiplayer, footsteps are extremely hard to hear. Audio clarity is essential for awareness, especially in a fast-TTK environment.

5. Tanks Need Louder Audio + Better Visibility on RedSec BR Map and the Die quickly.

Tanks are extremely powerful, but they are too quiet and don’t appear on the map consistently. For balance: louder engine sounds and always visible on the map. This would make tank encounters less frustrating and more fair. But in multiplayer they die super fast in a 34v34.

6. Movement

Movement feels restricted. I understand the focus is to be a realistic game, the limited sprint speed makes maneuvering, repositioning, and escaping nearly impossible in gunfights with the fast TTK. Increasing sprint could drastically improve flow and combat flexibility. Remove sliding/jump-shooting that’s belongs in Fortnite and COD or increase the movement penalties so you can’t shoot your gun while doing those movements. Make sprinting a bit faster and add stamina bar for realism and balance. If TTK was lowered the current sprint speed isn’t an issue, in redsec it’s fine  due to plates lowering TTK.

7. visuals

its hard to see anything. That’s it. To much visual clutter

8. Maps

Every map is just constant action from every angle—you push one lane and immediately get shot in the back, hit by a tank, or caught in crossfire from three different sightlines. There’s no real flow, no safe spacing, no moments where you can reset, rotate, or set up a flank. It feels like the maps were designed to keep you in nonstop fights instead of letting players use positioning or game sense. There’s no possibility to actually control your engagements, create spacing, and make plays. In BF6, it feels like maps punish you for trying to do anything other than sprint into the meat grinder. My cortisol levels should be studied after spawning and dying a few times in a row without any breathing room.

9. Aim sensitivity.

Im a controller player, that being said aim assist is OP when you don’t need much recoil control because of aim assist. If we wanted strong aim assist we would play COD. I beleive a nerf where it’s not as sticky so players need gun skills for recoil control and tap fire. Maybe because I come from Fortnite but I have seen a lot of people complain about this issue and feel it myself. But for now now I will abuse it and vaporize everyone with the TR-7 sorry not sorry 😂

Addressing these issues would: Create a real skill gap create a player retention as players feel progression of getting better at the game, Reduce frustration for new and high-level players, Improve long-term retention overall and Help the game reach its full potential. Right now this game is set up for anyone to pick up the game and farm kills by being a turret with not much skill. I know not everyone on here is a gamer who plays competitive so let’s add more full casual modes with bots as it helped me integrate me into multiplayer.

These changes could push it from “good” to a truly great Battlefield experience, especially for those who love to play competitively especially since EA is looking to host competitive tournaments now.

Thanks for reading and for continuing to work on the game.

You mar a valid point, the running part isn’t the most pressing issue and wouldn’t mind if it staying as it is if the TTK was lowered.

We already have a faster sprint, which you can do by running with a knife/repair tool/defibs out. The downside of this is that you don't have your weapon available, so if you get caught in the open, it would get you killed.

A stamina bar works wonders for games like Dark Souls, where the entire combat is balanced towards you having to maintain your stamina. The combat is predictable, follows a reasonably steady flow and the difficulty comes from learning the movements of the boss and learning how to respond accordingly while still managing your stamina.

The stamina bar has one critical downside though. It doesn't work for games where the combat flow is unpredictable. If you can't predict when you'll need it, you'll either underutilize it, or you'll use it at the wrong moments. This leads you to the stamina bar being unavailable when you most need it. That's why many games including Battlefield shifted away from using stamina bars to manage sprinting speed.

In addition to that, it just creates downtime. If you feel like you'd need the stamina bar, but it's still busy recharging, you're just waiting while doing nothing. It breaks the pacing of the game.

The gun fight is not predetermined at all. Yes if you're ADSing you are absolutely going to have an advantage because you are aiming accurately down sights.  I have over 100 hrs in the game and im not having any issues. The net code can be wonky from time to time but that's evey BF game. I see people like you that come from arcade shooters or the 50 year old in this thread complaining. Again TTK is right in like with BF3-4.

Have you every played other BF games? Between the debris, smoke, gas, fire this game is no different. This is just not the game for you man and that's fine. Im not a fan of arcade shooters but you wont see me trying to change them.

I acknowledge the head shots could do more damage but that would make TTK even higher contradicting what you said. If you want to be a bullet sponge so you can 360 no scope a dude in the head to win a gun fight, again that is a skill issue on you. Try Hell let loose or Squad and you will see Fast realistic TTKs.

You write like u have inside facts about the game? We highlight things we feel is a bit off.
U ask if i have played any other BF game? U dont read too well, my text says that i played every game since BFBC2.

If u have played BF4 u would know that it was completly broken by launch a took almost a year to fix alla problems and tweak gameplay. But after that it was a great experience and a masterpiece. I dont play arcade shooters or COD so dont use that card.

We are just making suggestions and giving feedback about the game.

    Dont have a cow.

The netcode in this game is worse than it was in BFV and is about the same as in 2042 and it was crap in that too.

TTK to body shots in CQC with any gun you almost have no reaction time but I understand getting headshot lowered TTK but that also rewards and adds skill to the game.  Body shots shouldn’t do the same as headshots when using a full auto weapon l. Nothing I can do about shotgun to the face or snipe to the head.

I didn’t say gun fight are pre determined I said they feel pre determined. It’s basically first person to spot the other one usually wins and the one who has snap aim there is that aspect skill to it, but the one prob ADS in a corner will win. Headshot multiplier would counter act that or higher TTK to take cover and re set the fight. Hardcore mode has fast TTK that’s fun when I want to just sit back and not play objective.

honestly the TTK can stay just make headshots worth going for. The debris is whatever Im enjoying the game regardless.
