Medics should score more points for reviving someone

A medic should score the same amount for reviving someone as for killing someone, we are literally running to a location we KNOW someone has just been shot at and the score for doing that should be greater than hiding on a mountain side with a sniper rifle or running around with a shotgun. You are going where everyone is dying and should be rewarded better for it.

you should also be able to heal yourself as you’re a medic

While reviving certainly should matter, I don't think that it's worth as much as a kill. You're essentially just hanging back and waiting for your average sub-1 K/D player to make a mistake, so you can smoke your own teammates to secure a revive.

People that are making the most kills aren't the snipers. It's the highly skilled players that move the game forwards. They don't just click dead bodies. They have to win engagements where the enemy shoots back.

Medics already are the easiest way to farm points, because good medics can combine reviving with killing and get more score than any other class.

Interesting take, however I play rush and conquest maps and push the game forward and have been playing BF for years but if I’m playing medic proper I often don’t have time to get my gun out as I’m chasing down injured soldiers to heal them, often my revive and my own death rate are high as if I clear the area you will ‘bleed out’. Medics often don’t win engagements where the enemy shoots back as they have defibs in their hands and weren’t shooting in the first place, merely running to where someone else lost an engagement and hoping to get in and out without being shot

Disagree completely.    Medics need to earn more points.   I mix it up and play  all classes.   In a game recently playing medic I had 38 revives, 17 caps , 16 kills  14 assists.... End up on the lower half of the scoreboard.     The guy on top 40 kills and 14 captures....  If this were team deathmatch ok the guy with kills should rightfully be on top.   But in an objective based game mode other things should factor.

As will most games it's catered to  those who obsess over kd ratios rather than wins/losses.

if the guy with 40 kills is at the top of the leaderboards on conquest or escalation its because hes been on the capturepoint more than anyone else. the scoring in the game modes as far as placement on the leader boards is based on capture score and nothing else. him having 40 kills is a by product of him being on the captures taking and defneding them.

There's nothing wrong with just going for the revives. You're still contributing quite a lot. Everyone can play their own role, even if it doesn't necessarily grant them #1 on the scoreboard.

It's just that you can revive and endless amount of players, but if nobody is able to remove the opponent from the objective, you're going to lose the game.

The number of captures doesn't tell you everything. You could in theory join in on capturing an objective at the last second to get a capture on the scoreboard, but that only gives you a fraction of the score. If you're the one that's been on the objective from start to finish, you get way more points.

That person simply played the objective more than you did. It's the main method to win the game, so of course that deserves more points.

Kills matter most when they actively prevent the enemy from playing the objective. Reviving matters most if it keeps the players on the objective alive.

So no, it's not catered to k/d ratios, but a good k/d ratio does help you get on the objective.
