Movement & Weapon Spread

The movement and weapons felt much more fun to use in the beta. Release version of the game makes infantry feel very sluggish and random. Jumping with knife out makes you nearly stop mid-air. The penalties for trying to shoot while moving aggressively are too much.

Please consider reverting the nerfs to movement and weapon accuracy to retain a smooth and rewarding battlefield game and infantry experience.

  • Somebody at EA said "make ADS bullet spread worse" for release day patch 1.0.1.0. Its right in the patch notes. Unbelievable.

ADS is suppose to be for precision shooting. As it stands, the ADS is just a fancy mask for a blooming crosshair. If EA wants Battlefield to be a loved mainstream game it needs clean shooting mechanics! DITCH THE SPREAD, it's not 2002 anymore

I dont want guns to have less recoil. Just for the bullets to go where the sight is.

Doesnt EA know you can encourage burst or tap firing in better ways?

GET RID OF ADS BULLET SPREAD!

Is this a ragebait comment ?
Either way, that's not the point, the bullets literally have a noticable degree of spread from the barrel, this is ridiculous at a range of say 50 meters, this just shouldn't be happening, that's all

ADS accuracy- more of guideline than a rule!

ADS is more like hip-fire, and hip-fire is everywhere except where your barrel is pointing unless the enemy is 3 metres away.

  • 100% agree. Now that EA has the money off the reddit fps noobs that will always suck anyways. they can finally fix the movement and make it more fluid without the iTs NoT CoD comeback from 2011

Most of the pro-bullet spread dudes (how could you even side with RNG recoil) double as rage baiters.

You can encourage people to tap and burst with visual recoil too. You dont need RNG ADS bullet spread to encourage people to burst. Im so sick of that excuse

A lot of casual players dont even notice the bullet spread and they just keep mag dumping.

If they saw the recoil in their weapon sight, THEN theyd be encouraged to burst. Theyd see the sight getting uncontrollable and reset.

Battlefield lies to players who are used to games where bullets land where uhhh.. your gun barrels pointing

I told you in another thread there is already visual recoil....

  • There's a significant portion of the playerbase (not me) that's allergic to any movement techniques related to jumping and sliding. From what I can tell, the reason why these players don't want this, is often related to the perception of what people want Battlefield to be, rather than what Battlefield has historically been.

They want Battlefield to be "grounded". They feel strongly about seeing people slide or jump, because that brings up their negative associations with Call of Duty. This isn't necessarily based on any detailed understanding of the game mechanics. Instead it seems to be more of a matter of authenticity and immersion. I get the impression that many people view Battlefield as more than just a game, they put heavy emphasis on the overall experience as well. They want to feel that they are playing a realistic shooter, even if it isn't realistic. So any game mechanics that fall outside of those somewhat subjective boundaries are frowned upon.

In my opinion, the most substantial problem here is that it's quite hard to quantify feelings and many players don't even know what they want. There are many times where the Battlefield community asks for things, that when implemented indirectly lead to dissatisfaction from the same people that asked for those changes.

For example, they complain the game is too fast and that they want to nerf the movement, but once the movement is nerfed they find themselves struggling even more to keep up with the pace of the game, as the pace of the game isn't defined by movement alone.

Unfortunately, Battlefield Studios seems to want to cater to these players. It's essentially a repeat of Battlefield 1, where they kept listening to the Reddit crowd and they ended up nerfing the movement and the slide to the point where it became entirely pointless to use. I really hope Battlefield Studios doesn't cave too easily to future attempts to nerf the game.

Jumping with knife out makes you nearly stop mid-air.

This is confirmed that it will be fixed.

Agree with all of this. I saw that they already hotfixed the knife-out movement. Feels much better. We nearly have a perfect Battlefield. Just a few more tweaks. 🙏
