Thought on BF6 so far
I would like to start this discussion by saying I think the dev team have done a incredible job at making a battlefield game feel like battlefield, although that may sound like a silly thing to say the devs clearly lost there way with 2042 and have really hit home with 6 giving that bf3 and 4 vibe back to the players, so well done there.
That being said there are a few super annoying things that genuinely when happening instantly stop the fun I am having on the game and a few decisions that don't sit right with me on the game.
BF to me is a great escape from the competitive fps games I play, where I can just jump on and have some fun in a fps game against players not as good as myself resulting in a less stressful and more fun experience than I get playing ranked on other games or games with hidden MMR forcing me to have to sweat every lobby I join. so that being said I fully take into account that BF is not even close to being a competitive game and should not be treated or taken as such (of course we all like to win and play to win on BF but its still fun losing in this game)
Bloom. Bloom is in my mind a developers cop out of making a actual recoil system in the game, adding rng to my bullets when my crosshair is on people is probably one of the most triggering things that could be put into a game and seems incredibly lazy to me. I am unsure if this is put into the game to attempt to give players a rng chance against better players or because you guys feel like a genuine recoil system is not casual enough for the average gamer or maybe to just slightly increase time to kill at range but it is genuinely a painful thing to put into any fps game.
It is incredibly annoying but I still find the gunplay fun enough that I am not put off the game by this.
The bloom potentially feels worse than it is because of desync.
Shotguns. Shotguns being a 1 hit kill and fast pump time are annoying and the range is kind of long but that's always been a battlefield thing to be honest. what really annoys me about shotguns is that the assault class is given it a 3rd weapon so it instantly increases the chances of coming across them. I feel like this is annoying because if you are playing shotguns on BF that should be a choice you are making and force you into taking close quatre calculated fights rather than just being able to run around and pull one out whenever you enter close quatres with 0 penalty and 100% brokenness.
would love to see the assault class given something else enticing other than this.
I think vehicles are spot on as they are easy enough to avoid but annoying enough to force teams to deal with them and we are given great tools to do so.
Progression speed is perfect and grindy that's exactly how a game should be with a lifespan the size of BF.
Smgs getting outgunned at close range by a lot of other weapons with better rpm and damage is annoying and then SMGs being more reliable at range than assault rifles because there is by far less bloom on them definitely needs a little look into.
LMG aim down sight time and sprint to fire speed is way too fast there is pretty much other than reload times no downside to them.
Sniping feels absolutely beautiful on this game do not change it in anyway, well done.
quiet a few of the maps genuinely suck or just flow incredibly weird and as a result I have unticked them myself but I can respect that this is personal preference and I do think everyone will enjoy the maps differently and the fact that I can untick them in the custom search section is great. (also aware that you will be releasing more in the coming months)
Some of the sights on the game are incredibly clustered and feel almost unusable but I do respect most of the ones that suck have a alternative for the same magnification.
The cod player base that have came over to BF need a full breakdown of the reviving system and how defibs work. when tickets are low and I watch a medic close that distance to 0 then the number starts going back up as they run past my corpse (that hurts)
All in all. a great start to a great game it seems the pros on this game far outweigh the cons and you have hit the nail on the head for exactly what battlefield is and should be. can't wait to see what the development of the game bring (hopefully nothing silly). sometimes simple is better and this game is simply better than bf2042 .
Well done battlefield dev team!
