Today I leave Battlefield 6 with sorrow in my heart...
Hello dear community and devs.
As the title says today I leave Battlefield 6, not as a hater, not as an average player, but as a big fan of the franchise. Let me give a little bit of context.
I am 20th world rank Recon on BF V and have to say it is an amazing game. As a sniper I got used to play aggresive. Capturing points and killing enemies even cleaning objectives by myself. At the time I started playing, I found the challenge and reward of learning long shots and bullet drops. Also being selective with my targets, hitting always the medic or baiting them into a false sense of security to get them once they were resing a team mate. The sounds that the soldiers make, even the enemies allowed me to position them in the map, knowing where they were and avoiding ambushes. But today I finally opened my eyes and foundf disappointment. I tried and I swear I did, to give a shot to the new experience BF6 has to offer. But I am tired.
1.- Rangefinder is the most stupid and awful attachment I have ever seen in my entire life. Not only it removes the learning curve for new players, but also makes them lazy. They don't move, they camp rooftops like crazy (meaning you will have around 8 allies in the same roof to get that sweet long kill and post it on social media), Giving at the same time disadvantage for other classes. Anyone can make that shot and kill you. I like to show them who is better anyways but, my team just won't enjoy it as I do.
2.- Map design is awful. There is no sense whatsoever. It's a rush fest. It is unbalanced as hell and there is no tactical sense on capturing certain objectives. I can't believe that the once iconic skyscarpper on BF4 had a point to capture and bringing it down would remain the objective intact creating a full different strategy on the match but... you can't bring the Olympus map building down (B conquest, C Escalation)??? Think of Panzerstorm, Hamada, Al Sundan amongst others. The objectives make sense. Makes sense to keep A, B and C alive in Panzersotrm while you create a preasure point against either Americans or Germans. And is so fun to find another team that know this exact strat and that's when true war begins.
3.- Lack of realistic sounds. Yes, you have a lot of gadgets like motion sensors or drones. Ways to detect enemies but... I can not think of a reason that we do not have other ways like listening to the enemies talk. This is something BF V exceeds on and helps to get those little campers easier. Hear them crawl in areas like Pacific Storm, Salomon Island or others. It is so frustrating to find yourself in asituation where you get 5 idiots around one corner and as much as you do, It is never enough.
4.- Lack of animations. I have never thought that after the coolest res animations in BFV we would set back to the "old school". You simply disappear when getting inside a tank?? No animation on actually getting into the tank and give others a chance to kill them on the spot? People leave their own tanks like candies in Halloween and of course this leads for a smartass on the other team to inmediately capture it... What the hell DICE?
5.- No ammo crates. It would be so easy to have them spread around the map instead of begging some idiot to give you more. It is insane the amount of times that I have been out of ammo and no one gives a **bleep** crap. As a recon this is so annoying since I can barely defend myself with the **bleep** pistols we have now. I'm still waiting for an auto or burst handgun like the G18 or something similar but even then I don't think It will make much difference.
6.- Las but not least... No impact within the match. As a BFV veteran I can asure you me and my squad not only would end up as MVPs but also turning around the score. Why the hell it dones't feel that way in BF6? We could end up with tons of objectives captured and amazing K/D but... nothing happens and we still loose???
I stream and I feel thankful creating a beautiful and really small community which are part of my clan now. It is insane and beautiful how we can end up 8 people playing in the same server and we stay there until we dominate it and everyone starts leaving. So my question is... why there are no platoons? why there are no consistent servers on which we have to aboid the trouble of removing crossplay and then inviting our other friends manually? We have to do this because otherwise they can not get a spot in with us. If they wait "in line" as soon as the match is over the timer stops and never join.
So... I know I'm just one more within your millions of people enjoying the game and maybe no one will give a **bleep** about this but... still, I don't think I will play anymore until any of this gets fixed or at least I can see that you care about these issues mentioned. But again, what is one guy's voice... rihgt?
I will let you know though... I love BFV as you may have noticed already. The music is incredible, the maps, sounds, weapons... I can feel the lightness of the ROSS MK II as if it was about to break or the heavyness of the Krag-Jorgensen as I aim. The nice, smooth feeling of shooting an Arisaka and the greatness of the Kar98.
I'm not a nostalgic, I just want to see that everything learned before is applied. I can only cheer for your success and see my fellow BF fans enjoy the game while I wait on a dark corner hoping that maybe one day, I can have fun the same way you all do.
Loves from Mexico,
Alex.
