What To Interpret From The REDSEC: Elite Series

I thought I'd be the one to start this, because it raises a lot of questions as to what it implies for the future expectations of BF6.
I Won't @ every single Community Manager here out of respect, but I do invite anyone on the development side of things to give their say in what this means for the game as a whole.

Is BF6 turning into a competitive shooter?

Should we expect a lean into this competitive side with future updates?

Will a/or multiple competitive mode/s be future additions to this game?

Is the Battlefield Team attempting to accommodate the competitive and casual sides of BF6, and if so, how do they plan to go about it without alienating either side?

How much of the Community (meaning us) is actually going to influence this Elite Series? (As quoted in the REDSEC: Elite Series announcement post.)

How much is the Community (aswell as each side, those being casual and competitive) currently influencing BF6 development at this time?

There are many more questions to ask in regards to this, but I invite anyone from the Community reading this to post their queries on the Forums, aswell as the discussion below.

Battlefield as a series has never in its life been associated with the competitive scene to this degree, I'm curious as to what makes the Devs, Publishers, etc think that this game is potentially able to stand as a competitive genre with what the history of the game has laid out over the last 23 years.
As someone who plays fighting games, arena shooters, and other competitive genres, I honestly did not think battlefield needed a competitive scene, nor a competitive series/mode. The joy one gets from this game is not associated with using skill or reaction to win matches, but rather creativity, communication, and cunning to overcome odds. The competitive shooter genre is not known for being very heavy towards what battlefield has to offer and hasn't been shown to work with other titles attempting to enter this competitive sphere. If we are talking purely from a REDSEC Battle Royale perspective, this is especially not the case with all kinds of controversy arising predominantly from Battle Royale mishaps and miss-management.

I'm not sure if this is the direction a lot of people in this community want this game to go, especially in the games current state. It seems a little too early in the games life to suddenly feel confident enough to branch out with what foundation is currently present. There are still plenty of issues, bugs, mistakes and changes to be done with BF6.

If we were to truly involve the community, I believe a fantastic place to start would be with Portal.
This mode has the potential to accommodate both sides of the community, those being casual and competitive.
Have modes be created by talented community members (aswell as DICE or any other team working on BF6) and have a streamed series showing off the creativity and talent of these people, hosting these maps, modes, modifiers for community members and the like to join in on and have fun exploring what can be done with this engine.
Through this we could even see new modes emerge into the multiplayer playlists officially, maps made by the community remade by the BF6 Team into fully realised and recognised maps to be added into the game! With how much Portal is pushed, I believe this would be the correct way to go with regards to a Series showing off our game.

I hope this post provides enough concern aswell as inspiration for what we'd like to see in the future, and what the actions of the BF6 team communicates to us here as a whole.

I'm genuinely enjoying this game, but I don't find myself wanting to watch a competitive series on Battlefield. But that might just be me? I can't see how it would be, but let me know if this competitive side has been brewing the whole time or not.
