Battlefield 6 - Persistent GPU Power Limit (150W) Bug on i5-12600K / 3060 Ti
Hello everyone,
I'm facing a very specific and persistent performance issue in Battlefield 6.
This bug has resisted all known fixes.
I suspect it's a deep-rooted Frostbite Engine scheduling conflict with the i5-12600K's Alder Lake architecture.
The Core Problem:
My RTX 3060 Ti is consistently limited to 150W Power Draw (approx. 60-70% Usage) exclusively in Battlefield 6.
Critical Diagnosis:
• Hardware is Healthy: GPU hits 99-100% Usage and 200+W in Furmark and other demanding games.
• The Bug Trigger: The problem starts because the SHADERS load abnormally fast upon game launch.
• This quick/incorrect compilation forces the Engine into an Error State (Power Cap), limiting the GPU to 150W.
• Low Settings Fail: Switching to the LOWEST graphics settings does NOT resolve the 150W limit.
Troubleshooting Steps Already Attempted (Please do not suggest these)
- Drivers & System
• Used DDU to clean install/rollback multiple NVIDIA driver versions.
• Confirmed NVIDIA Power Management set to "Prefer Maximum Performance".
• MSI Afterburner Power Limit set to 100%.
• Set NVIDIA Shader Cache Size to Unlimited (Global Settings). - Game Files & Cache
• Full Uninstall/Reinstall of the game.
• Manually deleted all game cache files in BF6 \Documents\cache.
• Manually deleted the NVIDIA NV_Cache folder multiple times.
• Verified/Repaired game files via EA App. - CPU/BIOS Tweaks (i5-12600K)
• Implemented User.cfg processor count tweaks (Thread.MaxProcessorCount).
• Disabled the E-Cores in BIOS (set Active E-Cores to [0]).
• This did not resolve the power limit issue.
• Tested limiting in-game FPS to 60/120 to ease the initial load.
• Low Settings: Tested on the LOWEST graphics settings; issue persists.

My Hardware:
• Motherboard: Z690-A WIFI
• CPU: Intel Core i5-12600K
• GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti
• RAM: 32GB Ddr5 5600mhz
Has anyone found a fix for this specific Instant Shader Load → 150W Power Cap issue on Alder Lake CPUs that is NOT on the list above? (Excluding Registry Editor tweaks).
Thank you for any insight!
