Constant Crashes on PC

Long story short. New PC built. Every game in my library runs great EXCEPT BF6. Had to adjust paging file to get shaders to load.

Did all of the normal turning off of tamper protection stuff in Security. Disabled XMP, Disabled the 200s performance feature for my ultra 265kf. Reinstalled windows twice.... Latest Nvidia driver installed.

About to pull my face off over this crap. Might crash at the start of the menus. Might crash in the middle of a breakthrough match. Might crash right after Javelin launches, might crash clicking anything on screen once the menus load up.

Uninstalled and reinstalled Javelin. That's about the only thing popping up in the Event Viewer is Javelin stopped working something another- this has happened (how ever many) times

Temps are great on the RTX 5080,hasn't peaked above 58c at around 80-96% usage.

CPU.. first two cores gets taxed between 70-89% but temps remain below 66c . Rest of the cores vary from 30-58% usage.

32GB DDR5 6000mhz (2x16 sticks in correct slots). XMP Disabled and running default speeds. Tried 2 other sets of ram I have laying around. Same issues. XMP was one of the biggest crash causes after doing some Google-Fu. Doesn't matter if XMP is enabled or not.

How does a game that costed this much... That's been out this long... Still require me to gimp performance options on my new hardware.. and spend more time searching for fixes than getting to play the game?

Oh yea. Random Direct-x errors of GPU removed happen pretty often too.

Only thing left I haven't tried is going back one driver from Nvidia. And dropping the core clock on the GPU by 50 until a magical fairy appears, or the game runs or something.

Like I said... I shouldn't have to kill all my performance enhancing features that I paid for to play this game.  I shouldn't have had to buy the game twice coming from Series X to PC.  Most definitely a lesson learned on spending premium money on an extended Beta that has just been catering to Streamers

  • Anyone running a New RTX 5080 and Intel Ultra Core 7 265KF or the likes there of, and are experiencing crashing in BF6 --
Go update the Intel IMEI firmware to the latest , and grab the latest IMEI driver for your mobo.
Has fixed my crashing for now.

  • i have a 5070.  but what worked for me is limiting my frames to a little lower then my monitor refresh rate.  so like 138-141 for a 144hz monitor.   I have a g-sync monitor though with vsync off.  otherwise turn vsync on.   or use the amd equivalent.    I use the preset graphic settings on ultra.    but what I did was change dlss setting from performance,  to quality instead.    and that seems to have stopped my crashing except for when I'm using a vpn and talking trash.  lol.   the limiting my frames stopped my crashing and the dlss setting stopped my stuttering.

The Only Solution atm is to disable XMP and let the ram @4800mhz

    Settings:

    • Default CPU Settings, boosting up to 5,5 Ghz
    • Intel 200s = Off
    • XMP = Off / Set Manuelly to 4800Mhz

Not a Single Crash after that!

    Specs:

    Ultra 7 265K

    Gigabyte Z890 Elite

    Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6400 Mhz

    RTX 5080 Astral OC

I have XMP and 200s running now and BF works. Redsec is still a dumpster fire of issues on its own though.

Sorry but I'm not gimping my setup for BF or Redsec.  All I did was update IMEI firmware and download the latest driver from Intel and not Asus's website for my motherboard. So that's  not the "only solution" lol

Helped a few others get their rigs running XMP and EXPO by clearing the CMOS on their boards after making sure their bios was updated, and IMEI firmware updated on Intel boards. Then setting the XMP and 200s option. And the AMD boards we got working just needed to reset bios to defaults restart and then set EXPO and PBO enhancements if they wanted them .

Hell I even messed around with disabling 200s and manually changing the NGU/D20 ratios to 32 and 33 and no crashes in BF6.  Tried 8000mhz ram with XMP and was still good too. On the fence about trying a set of 8000mhz CUDIMM.
