DLed Free Character Creator. Crashes on startup every time.

I've been having the same issue with the main game since I purchased it... but my specs are AMD.
I saw your post so I figured I'd login to EA app and download the character creator and try that as well. Same thing... hard locks my PC and I have to manually reboot.

The only thing we have in common at the moment is 64GB of Memory. 

I was able to play a bit during Patch 3. But the new Patch 4 came out and now it's hard-locking my PC on launch again.
No changes to my PC. Just logged in, downloaded the new patch, haven't been able to play since.

This is what I was told by support after days of trying every step I've found online:

"And as I can see here you have tried all the troubleshooting so I will not waste your time in giving you any troubleshooting. In this case I would suggest you to please return the game and ask for the refund from the steam as you have purchased the game from the steam."

Steam / EA app. Doesn't matter. Game hard-locks my PC.

I would personally suggest not buying it until you can at least launch the free character creator. Or you'll end up like me with a $80 dead game you can't play and can't refund...

Go to where you installed the game, default is C:\Program Files\EA Games\Dragon Age The Veilguard Character Creator

Find the shader cache folder:
Search for:
4238387177.PcDx12
2459419382.PcDx12

Delete those shader cache files and retry. Please let me know if you find anything. We are trying to duplicate this fix across multiple platforms and hopefully someone from EA/Bioware can be reached about it after we verify it's a shader issue.

Trying to run the app directly from the desktop. Running in Administrator mode, Windows 8 compatibility mode, and disable fullscreen optimization gets the program to run briefly BUT it crashes during "compiling shaders" every time.

Running in Diagnostic mode does not change anything.

System configuration with everything disabled does not change anything.

I've tried in Windows 7 and 8 compatibility mode. No change. Freezes every time while "compiling shaders" at different percentage levels.
