@ovie2 Pardon? Who is talking about Steam or Win7? I don't work for EA or this forum. 🙂 I'm just a gamer like you.
- @DeathDances GOD BLESS YOU KIND SIR. I INSTALLED THIS SHEETY APP FROM LINK AND IT WORKED
- KingRayVeteran3 years agoNew Veteran@superMateuszix lucky for you. I still can't get past error 500 and whoever is manning tech support these days is doing nothing. Asking me what my email address is when it's clear they've been communicating with me using that email address? SMH
All,
.net framework 4.6.1 is a minimum requirement for EA App on windows 7, but 4.8 will also install on windows 7 sp1 and resolve installation issues.
ChatGPT says:
The EA App requires .NET Framework 4.6.1 or later to be installed on the system.- KingRayVeteran3 years agoNew Veteran@brian_m_286 Ummm, I have 4.8.x .Net Framework, Windows 7, Sp1, 64-bit and that must not be true. I did get it installed, only to run smack into error 500 trying to do ANYTHING with that app.
- @Bobinen I don't know where my Microsoft Visual is can you please help
- KingRayVeteran3 years agoNew Veteran@Butterflysly_Sim on Windows 7, it's in 'Programs and Features'. Windows 10+ it's in 'All Apps'. These are lists of everything installed on your computer and it's in the Microsoft section.
I have literally tried every single option on every post in the forums just to download the EA App and NOTHING works. I have been doing this for over a year now hoping that it would get fixed but apparently its not a big enough issue for it to be fixed. Origin worked fine but now I cannot even revert back to it because its just now gone and regardless of any help I have gotten thus far, I still have not even gotten any closer to getting it to even start the install. I have gotten every single error code for the app to pop up just by literally trying to install it over and over again. The most frequent errors that pop up are Error Code: INST-21-32 & Error Code: INST-21-577.
I tried the link for the EA Desktop but you need Windows 8.1 to install it and sadly I'm using Windows 7 64-bit which is even harder because every help I get is for Windows 10 despite me avidly saying that I have a Windows 7 and just getting ignored because of it.
EA App needs to be fixed so anyone can install it without issues or just revert back to using Origin since that does not have any issues and anyone can install it.
- KingRayVeteran3 years agoNew Veteran@OtherACTION I have the same configuration as you do and got it to install. Can't get anything to run with the app. So, there are lots of problems and not even tech support has a clue what's going on with this thing. I did have to install it from my Downloads folder, because trying to do it with the website never worked.
Yes, they should allow us to go back, but the developers who put the hooks in to force us to use EA App probably won't release a single version allowing us to go back. If they do so, everybody can. Real tired of them not doing things correctly so everybody can install & play games successfully. I regret answering that question of trying EA App. It was the answer that caused us never to be able to go back to the Origin App. Still no joy; still can't install the EA App. Currently tryingh to get the Powershell fix listed above to work but no luck as yet. (Windows 11, not a Chromebook, EA Help / emails no help whatsoever and so forth).
Somewhat sad that last year when people reported that "Origin is still working" seems to have been accepted as a "solution".
