EA App launcher crashing (EALauncher.exe / EALaunchHelper.exe, 0xc0000005)

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the continued reports and the detailed information shared in this thread.

The EA app teams are aware of this issue with EA app version 13.743.0.6256, where some players may see repeated crashes/errors for EA app processes such as EADesktop.exe, EALauncher.exe, EALaunchHelper.exe, EABackgroundService.exe, or EALocalHostSvc.exe in Windows Event Viewer / Reliability Monitor.

A rollback has been made for the affected EA app version. That said, some players may still currently be on the impacted build, depending on when their EA app last updated.

If you are still seeing these errors, please check which EA app version you currently have installed and try manually updating the EA app using the steps here:

https://forums.ea.com/kb/ea-app-tutorials-and-guides-en/infoguide-checking-and-manually-updating-your-installed-ea-app-version/11894751

After that, fully close and reopen the EA app. You can do this by right-clicking the EA app icon in the Windows notification area/system tray and choosing Exit, then launching the EA app again.

If the issue continues after that, please share the following:

• Your current EA app version
• Whether the crash/error still mentions version 13.743.0.6256
• Which EA app process is crashing
• Whether this only appears in Event Viewer / Reliability Monitor, or if it is also preventing games from launching or causing games to crash

We’ll keep an eye on the thread and pass along any continued reports.
