network not doing its network thing

Product: The EA app
Platform:PC
Error Report ID (learn how to create an Error Report ID in the sticky post) when I submitted my error report, it did not give me an ID! Even that part of your app is not functioning!!
Which client functionality are you experiencing this bug with? Other (Please Describe)

When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 20.04.23
Summarize your bug All day I have been receiving the notification "The network cannot do its network thing" - I tried an internet fix I found in the forums, but that did not work.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? It's on login.
What happens when the bug occurs? It will not allow me to login.
What do you expect to see? Access to the EA app and all my paid content so I can use what I officially own.

How did this happen and when will it be resolved???

    Yes, I just tried resetting my password and am still receiving the same error message.

    I had another CM send me those to see if they worked. I'm working on getting more info about that message since it is so generic. Different steps work for different players.

    @GinaFemia have you by chance reset your modem? Basically, just unplug it for about 5 minutes and establish a new connection. 

    To make sure, you have run through all of the following?

    • Go to your task manager -> CTRL + ALT + DELETE and then find your full list of apps (you might only have a couple displayed.
    • Hit the arrows in the bottom left corner to see them all).
    • Close the EA App if it isn't already.
    • Find the "EA BACKGROUND SERVICE" app and end task
    • Then go to the EA App installer folder
    • Right-click and run as admin.
    • Let me know if you get the same error.
    • Password reset of your EA account

    I would like to see if an IP Config reset works as well.

    If you have a phone number listed on your EA account, you can sign in that way too, and not the email. If you do not, go to profile.ea.com and just add yours as a log in verification method and try that. Totally random but it has worked.

    Has there been a new update? I'm currently getting the same "network not doing its network thing" message.

    @mcraddock23 This should have been resolved a while ago. If you are still running into the issue and none of the steps outlined on the thread have worked, please post a new thread on the EA app board and title it with the error you get.

    As this post is old we have to lock it down so that we can start tracking new reports from players.
