Re: PC EA app - "The app crashed unexpectedly" or "Background Services Crashed"

Hi @Bagel7,

Sorry to hear that you're still experiencing the issue.

Could you please attempt to repair the EA app and see if the problem continues? If it does, please create and share an Error Reporter ID in this thread, along with the EA app logs. This will allow our teams to delve deeper into possible reasons behind this issue.

Thank you.

@Bagel7, thank you, I've shared the info with the teams in the hopes they can find a potential cause as to why you're still encountering this error.

    Hi @Bagel7,

A small follow-up; it looks like the EA app crash you're experiencing is potentially related to outdated or corrupt video drivers, like the AMD or Nvidia graphics drivers. Do you perhaps know what kind of GPU you have in your system, or could you perhaps share a DxDiag of your system?

@Bagel7, thanks. Do you have the most recent Nvidia drivers, of Feb. 13, 2024, installed? They're version 551.52.

@Bagel7, alright. So the Error Reporter ID & logs show that there looks to be a potential issue with Dx12 on your machine. Since there is not really a way to reinstall Dx12, could you perhaps perform the following steps and report back if the issue persists?

    Repair Windows:
    -
    1. Open the Windows Command Prompt with Administrator rights,
    2. Type "sfc /scannow" (without quotation marks) and hit the Enter key,
    3. Check if Windows manages to find files that need to be repaired,
    4. Reboot the machine & check if the EA app works now.

If this doesn't solve the issue, please try the following:
    -
    1. Open the Windows Command Prompt with Administrator rights,
    2. Type "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth" (without quotation marks) and hit the Enter key,
    3. Check if Windows manages to find files that need to be repaired,
    4. Reboot the machine,
    5. Open the Windows Command Prompt with Administrator rights,
    6. Type "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" (without quotation marks) and hit the Enter key,
    7. Check if Windows manages to find files that need to be repaired,
    8. Reboot the machine & check if the EA app works now.

Unfortunately, those steps didn't seem to work. The app still crashes as before.

It should be noted that I ran through the steps even though the scans did not find any files that were corrupted or needed to be repaired.

This is the same issue for me. EA told me to contact Microsoft in the end. I don’t believe it’s their problem it’s EA’s it was working before the 7th (when everyone else starting having issues)

The app automatically takes me back to the sign in page. We shouldn't even have to bother with this *-tier app.

My EA App stopped working yesterday for no apparent reason. Attempted all the fixes. Finally REINSTALLED Windows. Tried with both Fresh copies of Win 11 and Win 10, after installing drivers ofc. EA App still would not start.

Obviously, no windows update was responsible. This is a problem with the app.

I have not been able to launch the EA app since yesterday,  It was working before that but all of a sudden it just stopped working for no apparent reason.  This is extremely frustrating.  I tried to uninstall it and reinstall it but even that didn't work because it wouldn't let me uninstall the app.  I just got an error message.  So now I'm just stuck with an app that doesn't work and I can't even uninstall it.
