Re: EAFC 24 closes after trying to connect to ea server Xbox X

Hi there, @LukahhOG

Do you happen to have something plugged into the USB ports? A headset, controller, or some other peripheral? If so, unplug those and try again. Thanks!

  • Hi,

Thanks for the response! I haven't got anything plugged in other than the Power cord and the HDMI cord

I'd like you to power cycle your equipment with the following steps: unplug your modem/router and console. After 2 minutes plug in the modem/router. Let them come back online completely. Then plug in your console and start it up. Let me know if that helps or not. Thanks!

  • @EA_Aljo I have done this, still running into the same issue. Will occasionally get past the 'connecting to ea server' message and onto the FC24 home screen, however still crashing when trying to navigate the screen

Thanks for trying. Here are a couple other suggestions that may help.

Clear the alternate MAC address with these steps:

    1. Go to your Xbox Settings
    2. Go to "Network", then "Advanced Network Settings"
    3. Click on "Alternate MAC Address", and then click "Clear"

If that doesn't help, try deleting the personal saved data for FC 24. There is the risk of losing offline saves and changes to settings you've made. Normally, those download from the cloud, but I can't guarantee this.

    1. Press the Guide button and then highlight the FC 24 tile.
    2. Hit the Menu button. It's the small one to the right of the Guide button with 3 horizontal lines on it.
    3. Next, go to Manage game and add-ons > Saved data. Delete the file with your gamertag on it.

Let me know if either of these help or not.

  • @EA_Aljo I tried both options, after clearing the mac address the issue still persisted. After deleting the saved data from the console only, it loads past the intro screen but whenever I select another option (ultimate team, settings, clubs) it crashes me to the xbox home screen.

As a test, can you switch your connection to a mobile hotspot and see if that helps?

If that doesn't help, let me know where the game is installed. Is it on the internal hard drive or do you have it on an expansion card or external hard drive?

  • @EA_Aljo I have tried with my mobile hotspot, still the same issue.
I have my game installed on the Xbox X internal hard drive. No issues with any other games, whether they be discs or digital.
The game was working okay when I first loaded it up a couple of days ago, I tried to purchase a pack after about 30 mins of playing and it froze and sent me to the dashboard. Ever since then I have had this issue. I have also uninstalled the game and reinstalled since having the issue and no success.

I know this sounds weird, but do you have a custom gamerpic for your Xbox account? If so, can you try using a default one? I've seen this cause some odd behavior in the past.

  • @EA_Aljo I did as it happens, however I have changed it to a default and tried the other steps prior as well and still ran into the same issue.
  • @EA_Aljo

Here are the solutions I have tried:
    - Power Cycle on Router/Modem and Console.
    - Delete saved game files/data from console only.
    - Tried using another account.
    - Cleared the MAC address and changed the IPV4 & IPV6 to google standard (8,8,8,8) & (8,8,4,4).
    - Changed my account gamer picture to a default image.
    - Reset the console whilst keeping games and apps.
    - Uninstalled EA FC24 and reinstalled.
    - Tried to launch in offline mode.
    - Cleared cache and persistent storage.
    - Tried using mobile hotspot to see if issue persisted.

At this point, I'm out of ideas. I'd like you to contact an advisor by opening a case here. They may have some other suggestions. Thank you.
