OK - After Patch 1.2.0 - First Observations...
Hi,
(Spoiler - The game feels much better balanced).
Right then. I am in Div 1 on Seasons mode and can only talk from my first 6 games I have played tonight.
Of course anything I am saying can change with game speed and feel but my first 6 matches pretty much felt the same type of game speed etc...
So then. First thing I noticed was the feeling of inertia being back in the game. Again, this could be something else like heaviness or something else server side. BUT, what I enjoyed about it is you can feel the direction weight of a play and how you should move into the ball and position yourself for a run or a pass.
Attacking runs seem smarter again as does playing through balls down the middle and the sides. The wingers seem to want to run forward again and get in to the box.
From what I have seen with people defending so far is that the AI is not rushing into you as much and aiding them with winning the ball back. And the AI is wondering around again from CB position leaving space and punishing them who refuse to take ownership of CBs and chose to run around with CDMs. Those players may once again get punished and rightly so.
Even those who are trying to play the defensive line on the halfway line feel like they can be breached again because strikers and wingers want to run forward and exploit gaps.
Hoping my experience isn't just because I have been connected to a good server tonight and will be dumped on a terrible one next time and will be on the receiving end of bad gameplay.
I can only judge from my experience from this evening.
If it was down to me right now I would recommend EA to leave the gameplay alone and let people play and see what comes of it. Ajd just focus on fixing things like goalkeepers wiping out attacking players and penalty's not being awarded and and cheap ways of scoring being rectified.
Just let us get on with it for a bit EA.
(As i said before I might just have played the right opponents tonight on the right server and this is all a dream - This post is subject to change).
