EAFC26 crashesh before entering into the menu
Hello,
I’m having an issue with EA SPORTS FC 26 on PC (Steam version).
The game launches normally, EA Javelin AntiCheat starts, I can select my profile/personal settings, but when the game is about to load the main menu, it crashes to desktop without any visible error message.
In Event Viewer / Reliability Monitor, I found the following:
- EA Javelin AntiCheat reports:
The game fc26.exe exited unexpectedly, exit code: 0xC0000409 - Reliability Monitor also showed an EA App crash:
- Application: EADesktop.exe
- Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
- Faulting module: StackHash_1190
- Exception code: c0000374
- Exception offset: PCH_7A_FROM_ntdll+0x0000000000161914
I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:
- Renamed/reset the FC 26 local settings folder.
- Deleted/reset the entire %LOCALAPPDATA%\EA SPORTS FC 26 folder.
- Tried launching the game offline / with the internet disconnected.
- Verified the game files through Steam.
- Tried the -dx11 launch option.
- Completely reinstalled EA Javelin AntiCheat.
- Completely reinstalled the EA App.
- Interestingly, after reinstalling the EA App, the game worked once.
- After restarting the PC the next day, the exact same issue returned.
- Cleared the EA App cache using App Recovery.
- Signed out of the EA App and signed back in.
- Reset/renamed EA App user data folders, including Local and Roaming EA/Electronic Arts folders.
- Tested native monitor resolution and standard refresh rate instead of my custom NVIDIA resolution.
- Disabled NVIDIA/custom resolution settings.
- Disabled GameGuard AntiCheat Service and restarted the PC.
- Performed a Clean Boot:
- Disabled non-Microsoft services.
- Disabled startup applications.
- Checked Windows environment variables for GAME_DATA_DIR; it does not exist.
- Checked AppCompatFlags\Layers in the Windows Registry.
- Found EALauncher.exe with RUNASADMIN.
- Removed this flag and confirmed EA App / launcher were not forced to run as administrator.
- Reset EA-related per-user registry/configuration data.
The most important finding:
I created a completely new Windows user account on the same PC. On the new Windows account, using the same Steam installation, same EA account, same FC 26 installation, same NVIDIA driver and same hardware, the game works normally and loads into the main menu.
On my original Windows user account, it still crashes every time at the same point.
This strongly suggests that the issue is specific to my original Windows user profile or some per-user EA App / Windows configuration.
Could you please advise which specific EA App, FC 26, Javelin, registry, authentication, profile, or per-user configuration files could cause this type of crash? I would prefer to repair my original Windows profile rather than permanently use a second Windows account.
Thank you.
