FC 26 Extremely Laggy, Long Loading Times & Cannot Access Ultimate Team

I bought EA Sports FC 26 about a week ago and the experience over the last 3–4 days has been really frustrating.

The game has become extremely laggy with very long loading times — sometimes even longer than GTA. On multiple occasions the game just sits on loading screens or fails to load certain menus entirely.

The biggest issue is that I can’t access Ultimate Team at all most of the time. It constantly says that the servers are unavailable. FC Hub also won’t load properly and just hangs on the screen.

I’ve already checked my network setup and I’m using a wired Ethernet connection on PS5. My internet is working perfectly with other online games and services, so it doesn’t seem to be a connection issue on my end.
At the moment the game is borderline unplayable which is disappointing considering I only purchased it a week ago.

Is anyone else experiencing this on PS5? And can EA please look into this or advise on a fix?

    Hey — sorry to hear about the trouble with your game on your console. Here are a few things worth trying:

    1) Do a full logout / re-sync

    • Fully close FC 26 on PS5 (don’t leave it suspended in Rest Mode).
    • If you use the Web App/Companion App, log out of that as well.
    • Stay logged out for about 30 minutes.
    • Then launch FC 26 on the PS5 first and try going into Ultimate Team again.

    2) Clear the PS5 cache and rebuild the database

    • Power the PS5 off completely (not Rest Mode).
    • Hold the power button for around 7 seconds until you hear the second beep to boot into Safe Mode.
    • Plug the controller in with a USB cable.
    • Choose Clear Cache and Rebuild Database, then run Rebuild Database.

    3) Restore your licenses

    • Go to Settings - Users and Accounts - Other - Restore Licenses
    • Once that finishes, relaunch FC 26 and try FUT again.

    4) Delete temporary/corrupted in-game files (only if you can reach the menus)

    • From the FC main menu go to Settings - Profile - Delete
    • Remove the temporary/corrupt files (don’t delete Career saves if you want to keep them).
    • Restart the game and test Ultimate Team again.
