microstutters and lags in menu and game pc fc 26
Hello,
I am experiencing a severe and persistent issue with EA Sports FC 26 on PC. The game constantly stutters and freezes for a fraction of a second, exactly every single second. This micro-stuttering occurs everywhere—both in the main menus and during active gameplay/matches.
My hardware meets the recommended requirements, and I am confident this is a software/hardware conflict with the game engine or anti-cheat.
My PC Specifications:
- CPU: Intel Core i5-12400F (6 P-cores, no E-cores)
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT
- RAM: 32 GB RAM
- OS: Windows 11
- Monitor: MSI G321CQP E2 (165Hz)
Everything I have already tried to fix the issue (none of these worked):
- Controller Connection: I completely turned off Bluetooth in Windows and connected my DualShock 4 controller exclusively via a reliable USB cable.
- Audio Conflict: I disabled the controller's audio output device in Windows Device Manager and ensured Windows audio is routed only to my main speakers/headphones.
- AMD Software Settings: In the AMD Adrenalin profile for FC 26, I turned off Radeon Anti-Lag, Chill, and Boost. I enabled AMD FreeSync and forced "Wait for Vertical Refresh" (VSync) to "Always On". I also reset the Shader Cache.
- In-game Graphics Settings: I matched the monitor's refresh rate by setting it to 165Hz both in Windows and in the game. In-game VSync is OFF and Frame Rate Limit is set to "No Limit" (as recommended for FreeSync). I also tried changing the refresh rates to 120Hz on both sides.
- Windows Graphics Settings: I manually added the actual "FC26.exe" file (not the desktop shortcut URL) to Windows Graphics settings and forced it to "High Performance" using my RX 6700 XT. I also disabled Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) in Windows.
- Game & Anti-Cheat Reinstallation: I uninstalled and reinstalled the EA Anti-Cheat component as an Administrator from the game directory. I also tried launching the game directly via "FC26.exe" as an Administrator.
- Steam Launch Options: I tried forcing DirectX 12 by using the -dx12 command in the Steam launch options.
Despite all these optimization tweaks, the exact 1-second looping stutter remains. The only exception was once when the game stuttered for the first minute (likely compiling shaders) and then ran perfectly smooth for one session, but upon restarting, the permanent stutter returned.
Please investigate this issue, as the PC version seems to have severe optimization and stability loops on certain hardware configurations. I look forward to your guidance.
Thank you.
