Unable to Invite Friend to Play Co-op

I am trying to play rivals co-op with a friend on FUT. I play on PC he plays on Xbox Series S. I am able to see him online, invite him to party, invite him to play Rush with me, but when I try to invite him to play Rivals or Squad Battles, he does not show up on my friendlist on invite screen. When I try to invite him through the Social hub it says “Couldn’t send invite. Try again” 
However he is able to invite me no issues. 

I have tried multiple troubleshooting techniques:
- unfriend to re-friend
- restart the game
- clear my cache on EA app 

No fix.

I also noticed on the leaderboard his name shows under PC but with 0 match earnings or anything 
He has been playing the game for a few days so not sure what the issue is.
But on his end he can see my stats
