Unplayable 5 FPS Drop & VRAM Leak on Capable PC (FC 26)

Subject: CRITICAL ISSUE: Game Unplayable - Persistent 5 FPS Drop & Input Delay on PC (FC 26)

To EA Technical Support Team,

I am writing this as a loyal fan of the franchise who has been playing since FIFA 14 across various platforms. For the past three years, I have been playing FC 24, FC 25, and FC 26 exclusively on PC. Unfortunately, with FC 26, I am facing severe technical issues that I never encountered in the previous titles.

I purchased FC 26 two weeks ago. Although I have logged about 8-9 hours in the game, I have not been able to complete a single match without issues. The game is currently in an unplayable state due to a persistent 5 FPS lock and massive input delay.

Here are the specific details of the issue:

Inconsistent Performance: Sometimes, I can play the first match smoothly at 90 FPS. However, as soon as I exit and start a second match (or change modes), the frame rate instantly drops to 5 FPS and gets stuck there.

Resource Usage Anomaly: When this FPS drop occurs, my GPU usage hits 100%, yet the performance is non-existent. This strongly suggests a severe VRAM leak or an optimization failure within the game engine.

Randomness: The issue seems completely random but inevitable. It happens regardless of the game mode.

Troubleshooting Steps I Have Already Taken: I have tried every possible solution on my end, but nothing has fixed the issue:

Performed a completely clean installation of Windows 11.

Set my laptop and GPU to "High Performance" / "Ultimate Performance" modes.

Monitored hardware temperatures; thermals are completely normal and within safe limits.

Updated all drivers and BIOS to the latest versions.

Conclusion: I was able to play FC 24 and FC 25 at over 100 FPS flawlessly on this exact same system. This confirms that my hardware is fully capable and the problem lies entirely within FC 26's game files and optimization.

Currently, I feel like my money has been wasted as the product is defective. I have attached the necessary log files and screenshots below.

I urgently request a solution or an imminent patch update to fix this memory/performance bug. I cannot play the game I paid for.

Looking forward to a quick resolution.

    Fc25 had same minimum specs and I (and many other players) had no problem like that. Considering you guys publish same game every year (and worse this year) this problem has nothing to do with my PC. Also my specs are meeting your so called minimum. This problem is happening for more then 4 months for many players and you are still denying there is a problem with your game. I can't believe april fools came so quickly considering I can remember christmas like it was yesterday.

    I have the same problem, since the beggining of the game. I thought that was my laptop, but he run the last fc´s ... I have ryzen 9 with rtx 3050 ti. I´ve played games that used lot of cpu and gpu and none of that happened. On UT, when i start the second game, drops to 5fps and my gpu go to 100% usage. Almost 4 months passed, still EA cant fix it. 80 euros for ultimate edition for nothing ..

    Bs excuse, my pc meets the minimum requirements, it actually exceedes them, and yet somehow the game like its on a toaster. you release the same game every year, and you still somehow seem to **bleep** up. And the audacity to blame in on ''our systems'', when this exact issue has been around for months. Seems like it isn't our systems, and more the fact that your a **bleep** company, how only focuses on earning money. **bleep** you, and **bleep** you're excuses.👎

    I already have a Dx.Diag report in my submission, and it's in English. Why are you asking for the same thing again? I've shared all the necessary documents in my submission. This problem has existed since the game was released, and it's been 4 months. You're doing nothing. There are many people who paid for this game and can't play it, and we're all suffering. If the previous game, FC 25, ran flawlessly on our computers, this one should too, and it's clear that this problem is a bug on your end. Please find a solution to this problem. I bought the game in September, and now it's January, and I still can't play it. This is the first time in my life I've been so alienated from an EA game.

    I recently purchased FC26 through Steam and am experiencing serious performance issues. After the first half of the match, FPS drops to around 5-10, making it impossible to continue playing without restarting. During this time, GPU usage jumps from 1% to 100%.

    My specs:

    GPU: RTX 3050 Ti

    CPU: i5-11400H

    RAM: 16 GB

    From my observations, the hardware fully meets the recommended requirements, and the problem is related to a memory leak in the game.

    Please help or let me know if there is a planned patch to fix this issue, as threads about similar issues have been appearing on player forums for several months.

    I am very disappointed with the current state of the game.I purchased FC 26 back in October, but so far I have only played around 46 hours in total.

    Approximately 35 of those hours were spent in Career Mode, where the game runs perfectly fine and FPS does not drop.

    However, in online modes (especially Ultimate Team), the game becomes completely unplayable.

    After the first match or after switching modes, FPS drops to around 5–10 and remains there.

    At the same time, GPU usage spikes to 100% while performance is near zero.

    Restarting the game temporarily fixes the issue.

     

    I am playing on an ASUS ROG Strix G17 laptop.

    My system fully meets the recommended requirements, and FC 24 / FC 25 worked flawlessly on the same machine.

    This strongly suggests a game-side issue, possibly related to memory or VRAM management.

     

    PC specs:

    - Laptop: ASUS ROG Strix G17 (G713IC)

    - CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 4800H

    - GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU

    - RAM: 16 GB

    - OS: Windows 11

    I hope this issue is acknowledged and addressed soon, as many players are reporting the same problem.
