Lmao we’re back to this. I can answer for him. No he doesn’t see any improvements because it’s not an issue on the user end.
Ive literally unplugged every device from my computer except my mouse, keyboard and single controller and the game still crashes my PC. It is not something on our end, this is on YOUR end EA. Do your consumers a favor and get something done. Ive canceled my Origin Premier and will not be buying this game even if yahll get this fixed. It's been almost a month an NO real answers on this topic. It's really sad.
I only have keyboard, mouse, and controller attached and have always seen this problem.

So I tried shutting down all startup programs and having nothing running in the background, and I got through a full-length game with no freezes.
I still get mild stuttering whenever there's a big play moment and the crowd roars. Seems somehow related to the audio. Unplugging all of my peripherals isn't a workable solution for me, not gonna crawl around on my hands and knees under my desk every time I want to play.
Good luck fellas. Second game into solo battles and I take another L because the game froze up.(second week in a row) Never going to build a team like that. I’ll just cancel my subscription and see if they figure it out by madden 21.

Thanks for getting back. Was curious if it would at least make it more enjoyable for you while it's been getting looked into by the team. I've seen other forum users experience performance issues when they had a lot of external hard drives or other types of hardware (ex: Oculus) attached to the system.
A new update has been released on PC. Can you all try jumping in and let us know how the game is performing for you?
- @EA_Blueberry I can confirm that even with the new patch and updated Nvidia drivers that dropped this morning, my PC is still crashing. Audio still very choppy as well.

- @EA_Blueberry it completely freezes my PC where I have to use the power button to shut down and restart my PC. Madden 20 is the ONLY game I've ever had this issue on.

Let's try this:
- Right-click on the desktop and go to the Nvidia Control Panel, then set all those settings back to default.
- In the Nvidia Control Panel and under your PC Power Settings set it to max performance
- Right-click on the game in Origin and select Repair
- Within the Madden main menu, visit settings and lower the graphics down to the lowest setting and try playing. Let's gradually increase it over time to identify which in-game setting results in crashes.
- @EA_Blueberry So did try removing all of my other controllers except the 360 one (I have 3 other input devices for flight sims), got through a whole game again.
Still needs to be set to real time (not an acceptable long term solution).
In the process of doing this, I first tried just removing only my throttle input, and that had some pretty wacky effects on joystick input and made the menus unusable. Seems Madden doesn't play nice with PC setups with multiple input devices. I have many many other games that manage this just fine, hoping this gets addressed, unlike BF4, where it apparently never was. - @EA_Blueberry I was able to get through a full solo battle game without crashing once. It was still very choppy and using 100% cpu usage at all times. This is not an effective long term solution at all. My PC should not struggle with console ported game such as Madden. My PC can run a lot of games on ULTRA settings with no issues but I have to run Madden on LOW everything and unplug my second monitor just to play a game.

Is it Madden or Origin showing up with high CPU usage and do you use MSI Afterburner?
Hi i have an i5 4690k, 16gb of ram, no vr headset plugged in and an rtx 2080, I have had the exact same issue as everyone else here and its getting ridiculous. I would have refunded the game but i got it through origin access premier. the fact that i can't play this game a month after it's release is absolute *. Is there any way to get some kind of compensation for this or can you fix the game?
@EA_BlueberryI'm also having those problems and it pisses me off, i play everything on my computer and Madden 19 ran flawlessly on ultra 60fps, now on Madden 20 i get 100% CPU Usage all the time, the game is choppy, sound is choppy video is choppy, i think you overdid it with denuvo this year... wish i could refund.
My Specs:
i5 4690k Stock
GTX 970 +200mhz OC on Core and Memory
8GB RAM
Newest update on Madden 20 downloaded
Newest Nvidia Drivers installed 436.02Edit: I also use MSI Afterburner to monitor GPU/CPU Usage etc, i also have Max Perfomance on Nvidia Control Panel.
I set all the game graphics settings to the lowest settings with direct x11 and so far its at least playable but the audio is still so choppy i needed to turn it off
same issue
- @EA_Blueberry It is Madden.exe that is showing up with high cpu usage. I do use MSI Afterburner but I had it disabled when I ran the game last time
Had to refund because the stutters made the game unplayable while Madden 19 ran perfectly.
Also have an i5 processor .
Not sure if the fact i installed on an ssd had anything to do with the lag but i doubt it, seems to be a processor specific thing and will not be buying again until this problem is fixed.
I paid $15/month for access premier pretty much just to play Madden and it is unplayable for me as well due to this issue. i5 4690k for me as well. At least I only wasted $15 and not $60.
I continue to have the game freezes and stuttering. it has appeared to have gotten worst after the patch.
when can one request a refund. it has been just about 1 month since release and no official acknowledgment of the issue or update stating that EA is working on the issue.
I feel like the development team has no clue how to solve this problem or it's just ignored up until now because it's not a priority. Both are not a good look, but I fear the first one sadly is the truth. We all know by now Frostbite is a flawed engine, after the Anthem debacle, so maybe in the future, you should just ditch it for something that works. A lingering issue like this doesn't reflect well on your company, which - let's face it - doesn't have the best reputation anyway.
A lot of people in this thread are probably subscribed to Origin Acces Premier, just like I am. Part of why we pay is to play the game early, but instead we still can't play Madden 20 almost a month after release. This has gotten to a point where I feel affected customers should be compensated. Be it by offering everyone affected a refund, provide a code for the game on another platform of their choosing, give a free subscription to Origin Acces Premier for a year or something to keep us happy.
I won't be cancelling my Premier subscription, but I won't be renewing either, unless EA improves it's service and games a lot.
@EA_Barry @EA_Blueberry This is not a personal attack. I work in communications myself, so I know how it feels to be blamed for things you have no control over. This is directed to EA and it's higher ups. Just keep fighting in those trenches.
A tale of two halves for me. Played the first half post patch and experienced the lowest amount of audio stutters since the game's release. Quit game and decided to finish second half later. Before I played second half I was prompted to update graphics driver. Once I did that it was back to same old audio stutterfest basically whenever crowd and announcers get overly excited at the same time. After the smoothness I experienced with 19 this game has been a big disappointment mainly because I feel the gameplay is slightly better but can't really enjoy fully..sigh
After the update (Aug 20) I played 3 games and had no freezes. However, audio problems remain. Also, rather than freezes, I get pauses (< 1 sec) that occur about the same frequency as the freezes did before the update (about 3-4 per game). This is with running the game at a normal priority and ultra graphics settings.
Okay, here is my report:
After I installing the latest Madden 20 Patch, nothing has changed. Still stuttering and long freezings.
After that I installed the latest NVIDIA Patch who released yesterday. For the first time I had a long freezing in the intro and then a "lost connection to the server" error message.
So I restarted directly Madden and then worked flawlessly.
But ingame has nothing changed. Audio choppy, game stuttering and freezings. After switching the priority of madden20.exe back to "real time", the audio choppy was gone as usual. But still game stuttering and freezings.
CPU usage is still beetween 85% and 95%. Except during the freezing, then the CPU usage is permanently 100%. Sometimes with "Connection lost" error message if the freeze longer then 15 seconds.
Sorry for my bad english.
Greetings from Germany.
