is this the Original Trilogy or is it the MELE?
If Original:
- Make sure Steam and EA app are closed.
- Disable the internet connection of your PC.
- Go to your "C:\Users\<Your User Name>\Documents\Bioware\Mass Effect” folder.
- Move the "Save" folder and the "BIOGame” folder to your desktop. (The folders must be gone from the original path!)
Do not restore the internet connection until you tested the game! - Test the game.
If MELE:
- Make sure Steam and EA app are closed.
- Disable the internet connection of your PC.
- Go to your "Documents\Bioware\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\” folder.
- Move the "Save" folder and the “LauncherConfig.cfg”, “TrilogyGamerProfile” and the “TrilogyGamerProfile-XXXX” file to your Desktop. (The folder and files must be gone from the original path!)
Do not restore the internet connection until you tested the game! - Test the game.
If the game works without the saves, it is likely that one of your most recent saves got corrupted on your system. This could be due to a crash, or due to overly strict security software or settings.
The only way to determine which save is corrupt is through trial and error.
