Thanks again for the reply. Since you mentioned Windows Updates could be affected, I manually checked for updates. There was one, so I updated. I also updated my Nvidia GPU driver just in case.
I ran the three commands in the terminal directly after trying and failing to launch the game.
The first two commands didn't show any errors, so I ran the sfc /scannow command. Here are the results:
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.
I also confirmed the issue still persists after running the commands.
Is Steam still validating the game files at startup?
If not, validate them now after OS problems have been repaired.
Also:
Press the Windows key > Write "CMD" (Without the quotation marks) > Right click on "Command prompt" in the search results. > Run as administrator.
- Copy "findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt" (Without the quotation marks) into the prompt of the command prompt. > ENTER.
- Upload the "sfcdetails.txt" that is now on your desktop.

Yes, Steam is still stuck in a validating game files loop whenever I try to launch Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
I waited for the validating to complete before opening the command prompt as admin.
The command: findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt did not work.
C:\Windows\System32>findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt
The system cannot find the path specified. - holger140514 days agoHero+

Now that is strange. Did you moved userprofile folders (Dokuments/Desktop) to a different location?
Did you run the command in an elevated commend prompt? Please clear your temp files:
- Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time to open the Run dialog box.
- Into the new window, type or copy & paste: "%temp%" (Without the quotes.) > hit "ENTER"
- Now your Windows Explorer should have brought you to the "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Local\Temp" folder. > Delete all files and folders in it.
(If some files or folders can't be deleted, reboot and try again.)
Then:
- Go here and download "Revo Uninstaller. (The freeware version, Portable version works too.)
- Run "Revo Uninstaller" > Uninstall EA app.
- At the end of the main uninstall, Revo will ask you which cleaning method you want to use. > Select "Advance" > Browse.
- If "Remaining registration content found" is displayed > Select All > Delete > Next
- When "Remaining Data and Folders" is displayed > Select All > Delete.
- Restart the PC
- Download a new EA app setup exe from here. (Do it even if you already have the installer!)
- Install EA app.
- Run EA app as Administrator > Click the EA app shortcut on your desktop > Run as Administrator.
- Test.
