"It's actually not a "small and quick fix" as the game is 7 years old and backend support is pretty much ended. Unfortunately, you are correct, however - after weeks of investigating options, updating the portal rotation is not something that is going to happen - meaning those that missed the achievements when the game was fully live won't be able to get those achievements that require specific modes in the portal.

Progress IS being made to fix the rank issue/ban issue. It will require an update (game client/server side) and I'll have more details to share in early 2024 (it's going to take some work to get it addressed) re: what will happen, a timeline on when it will roll out, and any critical information you'll need."
