Will not load correctly to play: A Way With Words

Today is the first challenge in A Way With Words since the newest update and it will still not load correctly for me and other players since July 29. (Seems to be one of those account specific issues, that is just very strange)

This is not our computers or browsers. All other Pogo games work. It's a Pogo issue...

Please fix!

  • I have tried a Windows 10 system and it still won’t load. So like I said its account specific issue that needs to be looked into.

    I pay to play these games and expect them to work. It is frustrating when unnecessary changes to games that work perfectly fine are made and they break them causing them not to work. So yes feelings is a part of this because we spend to play and this is making me feel like I am not getting the value what I am paying for..

    Like state before, not everyone can afford to upgrade a system or is it even have a reason to just to play one game.

    Your "not supposed to work" and "antique" statements are false as well. Systems wouldn't even be functioning if that was the case and people (or even big corporations) still wouldn't be using older operating systems. I don't even consider Windows XP "antique" and that came out in 2001. We all use what we have the ability to and its like updating to the newest iPhone, some people can afford that and others just use one till it dies compleatly as the reason to upgrade.

    I read your other postings and respectfully, Windows 7, is not supposed to work - it is considered antiquated in the tech world. 

    This isn't an emotional situation where "feelings" need to be talked about; there are rules and guidelines we all have to follow. That being said let's all move on and evolve into the future in peace.

  • New content in A Way With Words and still the game is not loading.

    Yes, I have done all the necessary troubleshooting steps before even making a post. Something was manipulated during the latest update to this game that has caused some members to not be able to play. It's not our faults and very frustrating we can't play stuff that Pogo puts out in this game!

    It is account specific problems. No matter what browser (Chrome, Firefox) or computer I use, it still will not load correctly and yes the browsers are up to date. This goes for others who are having the same loading issues as well. Pogo is known for having issues that hurt certain accounts and breaking things when they try to improve things that really don't need to and are truly not "improvements".

    Oh and on other note AI responses is not the way to go. They don’t feel personal, insults our intelligence, and not very helpful either trying to deal with talking to a computer! This is coming from a person who is tech savvy.

    If you noticed in the posting a fellow player took a screenshot of her game loaded and ready to play. In the same posting another player stated they were having issues then later suddenly stated they were able to play - But why?

    It is confusing to see how some have issues, while others are ready to play, especially when it feels random or inconsistent.

    Pogo is a browser-based gaming site and relies heavily on our browsers, which can behave unpredictably on older systems or outdated browsers/programs or security settings. Each combination can behave differently.

    It’s highly likely that the issue isn’t account-specific, but browser-specific. Players access Pogo from a wide range of devices—desktops, laptops, iPads, and smartphones—and use various browsers and security settings.

     

    Browsers & Graphic Drivers - Why Updates Matter

    An outdated browser might not support the latest rendering methods, causing games to glitch or fail to load. On most devices browsers update every 4-6 weeks sometimes on their own and at other times it is waiting for our approval. 

    Graphics Drivers: Even though it’s a browser game, your GPU still helps render animations and effects. If the driver is outdated, it can misinterpret visual data—leading to distortion or freezing. More info here > How to troubleshoot graphics issues on PC

    "This is not our computers or browsers. All other Pogo games work. It's a Pogo issue"

    I understand why it feels like a Pogo issue when other games work fine. But browser-based gaming is more complex than it seems. Think of it like TV channels: just because Channel 5 comes in clearly doesn't mean Channel 8 will.

    Each game uses different technologies and has unique requirements:

    • Different graphics processing demands
    • Various memory requirements
    • Specific browser features needed

     

    This is why some players can play while others cannot - it's about the match between each game's specific requirements and your device's configuration. Pogo’s servers need to “shake hands” with your device properly and start the game smoothly (also for updates to register).

    This is why checking for updates and clearing your cookies and cache is more than just routine maintenance—it’s like clearing the path for a meeting. This is why you see some players having issues and some do not. 

    ✅Updates, graphics drivers, and memory — are the golden trio for keeping games running like clockwork.

    If all troubleshooting steps have been completed:

    • Check for Browser updates
    • Check for Device Updates
    • Check Graphics driver updates
    • Power Cycling - Internet equipment 
    • Allow Pogo.com and the games you want to play through any Anti-virus, Firewall, or additional security on your device.
    • Disabling any pop-up blocker, or VPN that may be running
    • Adjust Your Monitor Refresh Rate
    • Tried a Different Browser or Playing incognito mode
    • Meeting the minimum requirements for Pogo

     

    And you are still having issues, please include the following information, this will enable the team to investigate the issue thoroughly, given not all players are encountering issues:

    • Date (approximately) when you first encountered this error:
    • Device Type:
    • OS version:
    • Browsers Tested:
    • Current Browser Version Number:
    • Troubleshooting already completed:
    • Any issues with other games:

     

    Please Note: Microsoft has officially announced that Windows 10 will reach the end of support on October 14, 2025
