Skate 4 needs better optimization, Hall of Meat, and real skate culture vibe
Greetings to the development team and everyone involved in creating the new Skate.
I’d like to share my impressions.
The game is excellent — it’s a breath of fresh air and truly something new in the gaming industry in recent years. I’ve been waiting for the release for a long time, and the result is a project with huge potential. But unfortunately, there are several “buts” that really get in the way of fully enjoying the experience.
Technical Performance
The biggest issues right now are optimization and server stability.
There are frequent disconnects due to server overload, as well as regular crashes. Almost every play session ends with the game freezing or shutting down. It completely breaks the flow, especially when you’re in the zone and skating for fun.
I really hope this is a top priority for upcoming patches.
Hall of Meat
Where is it?
It’s one of the key trademarks of the Skate series — the brutality, the ragdoll moments, the X-ray bone breaks, the fracture counter. Sometimes I used to launch the old games just to mess around with Hall of Meat.
Yes, you’ve added fall challenges and acrobatic tricks — they’re funny, but they feel more like Saints Row than Skate. It’s fun, but not the same. I’d love to see more grit and realism — the old-school hardcore vibe.
Content and Brands
When I first saw Thrasher in the game, I was hyped.
But then I realized the actual content from the brand is minimal: a white cap, a pink cropped T-shirt, and a grip tape with the flame logo.
Where’s the iconic Thrasher Flame Hoodie? That’s a classic!
Same with Dime — I only found two T-shirts, one black and one white.
However, Vans is implemented perfectly — huge respect for that.
I’d really love to see more real streetwear brands in future updates: Supreme, Stüssy, Palace, **bleep**ing Awesome, Obey, Ripndip, Carhartt, and so on.
Clothing and Customization
Honestly, the content in the Season Pass feels weak.
Leather jackets, ripped skinny jeans, a bird costume, random shoes, and a bunch of filler items…
Who is this made for? Kids? Or the players who actually live and breathe skate culture?
Please don’t turn the game into Fortnite.
I’m really asking for:
Real accessories (watches, bracelets, chains, backpacks, piercings, etc.)
Wear and tear on clothes and boards (scratches, scuffs, dirt)
Bruises and injuries after hard falls
These would add depth and realism — especially when doing hardcore challenges.
Gameplay and Missions
I completed all current missions pretty quickly.
Grinding the same challenges over and over isn’t very exciting.
The game really needs more story-driven and street-style missions that capture the atmosphere of real skate life.
Also, the open world could use more life.
Sometimes it feels like I’m skating alone in an empty city.
Adding more background activity would make a huge difference to the vibe.
Conclusion
Skateboarding is one of my favorite sports.
I genuinely want Skate 4 to become my favorite game — but right now, it lacks the stability and authenticity of the previous titles.
The potential is enormous, and I truly believe the EA team can bring it to perfection.
Thank you for the work you’ve done so far — we, the fans, really appreciate it and can’t wait for the next updates.
