Since the frequency of territory battles has been declining as of late, is there any way we could get a secondary way to farm IPD and ROLO? My guild just got enough members to decently farm IPD, and we've only got shards once or twice in recent memory. I think it will be literal years before we get IPD to seven stars at this rate.

I've got to mention this again, because even now that I'm able to farm IPD shards, it's been reduced to one, and we probably won't even get that since we have to choose between Geonosis or Hoth. Why reduce the shard numbers when people will be getting it less frequently, or even not at all?

Let's say this is the case. It would probably be more like it was the case. Now the older players won't be getting the shards at all either.

Now that GEO TB has taken over for the DS TB slots for all competitive players. There needs to be a way to consistently attain Probe Droid shards.

900 MK2GEC for 5 shards is a complete and utter joke.

Key word here is 'value'. The actual value of MK2 currency relative to the cost of the shards is not very realistic. If those shards were NOT MK2, but instead GET, it MIGHT be of value then.
