Nope no free toon you guys got the Samsung starter pack also all I got was dark side starter but like you say it's apples fault for not advertising the game really or androids for been clever

Does anyone have a link to some official numbers that show half the people who play are on IOS? I am going to take a stab in the dark and assume this is one of those magical stats that people create to back up there argument. being mad about a platform exclusive event is one thing but making up numbers to back up your argmument is weak. unless you can prove it, in that case my apologies.

No, it's greedy EA accepting money even if it means alienating half their playerbase

I don't think all the games that are part of Google Play Month are EA games. I have a feeling they picked top selling games that draw the most money/player base to their play store.

If customers aren't satisfied with a provider whether it be gaming industry, cell/tv/internet provider, restaurant, etc then they should show that by not giving money and time to said providers anymore.

I agree, I would wager that more that 50% are on iOS and particularly when you look at FTP vs. PTP. I would bet that at least 70%+ of all money spent on this game comes from iOS users. Sure, this is speculation but based on reality:

Not trying to start a war of words here... but put yourself in their EA/CG's shoes. You put an app on Google's Play store that is making millions. Google's owns and operates this playstore. They come to you asking about a special event for their Google Play Month. You get to be 1 of 4 games that gets "free" advertising. Would you tell them no, because that would alienate iOS? How do you think Google would like that?

I know you are coming from the playerbase side of things, so it's harder to see it from their side but I really don't think anyone is trying to alienate anyone. They are just trying to join in the festivities of a company they want continue to see succeed (which in turn will help them be more successful).

Things like this allow the dev teams to hire more people which in turn can help grow the games content.

What decisions has EA made with this game in the past to in anyway suggest this would ever happen? The game is likely kept on a strict budget and staff limit to rake in maximum profit

Against platform exclusive content

Ok I'm on Android so will get the event.

I understand why iOS users are a little upset but I also imagine the event will be rather uneventful. Also the anger essentially should be redirected towards apple. Google play does loads of free stuff like this all the time - Free music, game events and free movies. I'm not sure if apple does the same but doesn't look like it.

Anyway - android and iOS are the two major platforms so I'm guessing you all know someone with an android device you could likely borrow. I found this link about merging a Google play and game center ID.

Im just trying to help by thinking a bit outside the box so apple users can technically still play the event and as it's not for another week yet plenty of time to test to see if it's possible. (unfortunately all my devices are android but I'll try and borrow a friends phone to see) the forum has a lot of negatively so let's see if we can turn this into a win for Android and apple users for those who can find an alternative method like this IF it works
