QGJ - Humbling blow question

Why when QGJ kills someone that has positive effects with his humbling blow does that not grant offense up? Is this a bug or as intended?
  • Pretty sure it's intended. The game calculates the damage from humbling blow then does the dispel, then adds the offense up. Because the character in question died, there was nothing to dispel once that calculation comes up.
  • Character dies, so all effects are removed right? Although creating a very cool game, we seen many examples these game developers don't think steps ahead...
  • I can see both sides of this I guess; seems to me that whether it be by death or otherwise the effects are dispelled so I feel like it should be granted. I know I've calculated it into my moves on a few occasions and then don't get it and pay for it lol...

This is the case. Killing blow would be calculated before the dispel which would require you to have some health left which makes sense. The difference is to separate that some characters have dispel removal buffs and some have killing blow buffs imo

IMO, it offsets the fact that he can grant Offense Up against Savage with no buffs, or Heroes that gain Defense Up from a Chewie lead.
  • I would still argue it is worth it to use HB for the kill. You stop any more damage output from that one toon.

Ideally we would be playing a game where you would go for value and get the offense up buff but go for the tempo instead and remove the toon.

The other reason you can confirm it's intended Is using FOTP and possibly RG as examples. They have abilities that kick in taking an enemy below 50% health however if you kill someone from 51% health or more these abilities do not trigger

I am very sure all these issues discussed on forums are a result of what players notice in the game. Nothing is intended. Like the stun-dodge incident. Or the stun-assist disaster. Another silly example is an assist call. If the original attacker kills the defender. But instead leaves it at 0 health, the assisting character will attack and collect bonus from that. Makes no sense. Don't think about it and just report it
