Get boba fast so he can ability block. Outside of that, Rex is great for his squad discipline which dispels all negative effects and grants tenacity up.
To subs point, Kylo actually benefits from the dots. He gets +10 speed for each effect. Just think about a modded up Kylo with 180-190 speed who gets +50 speed for all the effects, plus a high likelihood of resetting his outrage, which stuns.
