State of the game

Why does everything need to be a money dump? Players are more often then not pushed to the limit to get stuff done in this game, the way you fix it is by slashing the prices and gear peace's needed for characters (excluding relic material), you would probably double the player base with it, game would seem more appealing. Time investment has very low value as current state of things are, seem like only worth is money investment, folks are just going to get feed up and move on.

I'm nowhere after 2 months of playing and spent about 150 euros, I don't feel like I made any progress at all. Progress is way worst for the players that can't afford to purchase anything do to life expenses.

This is just ridiculous.

  • It's all about perspective; where do you feel you should be compared to others that play the game.

    Some points are:

    1. Yes, it does take a long time to get places in this game and without spending, you'll never catch up to those whose accounts are well ahead of you.
    2.  This game actually isn't F2P unfriendly.  You can spend absolutely nothing on this game, get places and be competitive.
    3.  Spending can cost an awful lot to see progress.  Even then, the game is still a grind.
    4.  Guilds are putting more and more pressure on players to get certain things.  This could make you reliant on spending.

I guess 'progress' is subjective.  It depends on what you consider progress.  Is it collecting everything at the highest level?  Is it progressing in GAC?   Is it seeing actual improvements in PvE scores?

You can and will see 'progress', but it's not a quick thing and you'll need to spend smartly.   I spend very little, and I have seen some streamers that spend a budget of $100 - $200 a month that were quite a bit behind me in GAC and account size, and who are now significantly ahead of me.  So, spending and spending wisely does make a difference.

I think they are "thinking" market strategy, as upping the prices discourages spending and relying on Whales to pay the bills , while this is a short term money grab it detours newer players from joining and eventually never looking back , Picture a brand new restaurant prices are fair and food is great , the restaurant is so successful it starts to appeal more towards a certain set of customers , while slowly pushing out others that don't appeal to new prices  of success , this market is only good if you keep those whales happy , because you have no more other customers , Let us look at one of the recent very noticeable "Episode Track" used to be $9.99 some don't know this, why? because a lot have left the game. but now it's  $ 19.99 , how many do you have spending to this price compared to when it was a fair price of $ 9.99 ? Perspective for all players is PROGRESS in all categories , since 2015 i can say thank you , as the prices came up i taken a far step back and now just have fun as i was a big spender and used to login and stress out play all the events , but if you want more customers lower the prices , look at the peak on the graph of what years and look at what was offered and what prices , but it is a business and if the business is making fist full of dollars every month  off of whales keep it going , but think of the future when whales get bored and leave , i say surveys and listen to what customers say , we know SWGOH is getting harder and harder offering 1-2 shards  for spending 100 crystals , we see it , we don't like but we are still here , tryin to have fun still , Remembering the good times when 5* Qui gon jinn and Vader were top tier characters starting out .

  • It's true that F2P is friendly and accessible, and takes a long time to progress. Having said that, there's still a lot of financial pressure to be competitive. There's a difference between paying for a boost in progress, and being cut out by not spending, and it feels more and more like CG is leaning towards the latter recently.

You all have good point. I'm most definitely discouraged from further spending unless it's something that really helps me out going towards unlocking a GL, otherwise I'm not interested.

The Episode Pass being 23 euro is a bit steep, if it was 10 euro I would purchase it in a heartbeat. Same for the LST being 17 euro for the Kyber one and upgrading one characters up to omega's and not having any Zeta at all is a horrible bad value and as you go down it gets worst.

The update was not improvement of QOL, it was a move to make more earnings.
