The real balance problem is aoe debuffs
Nihilus - aoe cooldown increase
TFP - aoe buff immunity
Palp - aoe stun
Maul - aoe daze
Baze - aoe buff dispel
Boba - aoe ability block
The proliferation of a few characters able to affect the entire opposing team has lead to the propagation of teams *requiring* characters who can remove debuffs/grant tenacity up for their team. Otherwise your team is dead in the water, only able to use their basic ability, if they can move at all.
The solution? Decrease the individual success rate for aoe abilities.
The result? Less dependence on requiring a character with tenacity up and/or cleanse, just to be competitive.
