So how do you factor in pilots (or fleet commanders)? Does upgrading a pilot increase your total galactic power more than the same upgrade to a non-pilot? Is there a similar constant relation between upgrades and power boost.
The power rating of a ship depended to a large extent on the power rating of the underlying pilot. If that is still true for galactic power, then one might want to prioritize upgrading pilots? Of course maybe they count ship galactic power separately from other galactic power.
Thanks for working some of this out.
Crew power is simply the pilot's GP multiplied by the ship's multiplier (determined by its star level). So if the ship is a 7*, then your pilot's GP will essentially count 2.5x the normal. Once for actual character, and another 1.5x the character's GP for the ship.
For two-crew ships, it takes 60% of each crew character's GP. For three-crew ships, it takes 40% of each crew character's GP.
FYI, I have a link in my signature to the spreadsheet I referenced earlier in this thread which breaks down what each upgrade is worth in terms of GP as well as the credit cost per point of power from each character level, star level, and mod level so you can figure out the most efficient way to upgrade your characters.- Awesome data Pyrefly and thanks for sharing.
Some of the stuff the limiting factor isn't credits (just being Capt Obvious). - Awesome, useful info.
- Am I missing something? It seems upgrading gear tier isn't increasing GP. Each individual piece added was increasing GP, but not hitting a new tier. Just geared up Hoth scout from nothing to g7. None of the individual tiers increased GP. Also, the first few ranks of abilities didn't increase GP either. Bumped his abilities to 3 with no increase. Will look at abilities more tomorrow when I get more purple mats.
@Pyrefly - Increasing gear tier raises character stats, but not GP, correct. Raising abilities should raise GP, regardless of the ability's level. I have all characters at level 3 abilities or higher, so I can't test to make sure that the value is working the way it should, but it definitely should be raising GP.
- Okay. Just tested rank 2 and 3 abilities on another character. It's not updating until another update is forced, or backing out of the character.
Thanks for this info tho, very helpful. "Twin;c-1237123" wrote:
My opinion... don't go bonkers on gearing and leveling mediocre toons to mediocre levels.
My Rey who is level 85, g10, full 5dot mods etc is worth 30k GP.
Warrior's video showed 280k GP earned from 5/6 on a combat mission (don't forget the character GP also)...
So 5 proper toons doing one battle will be worth more than 10 of those "near" complete toons which more expensive then everyones suggests of level 43 then 50 something etc.
Not sure. Has anyone done the math? (Of course may need to wait until see mission payouts). Consider also the biggest cost - time. How long does it take me to do a combat mission, vs shovel characters into a platoon or allocation? (Sure the rewards for latter two aren't as good, but the time involved may be order of magnitude more for combat mission.)
Also, this isn't a one-time thing. This is shovel that same toon in over and over.
Be interesting to see roi (in terms of tb currency, etc.) per credit or per second spent. How do they compare?"Synric;c-1236778" wrote:

Oh, yes, I do remember that happening on the higher level abilities I tested.- You're right in that completing combat missions will be a huge source of GP for the territory. I'm guessing your Rey is closer to 15k, not 30k, however, but that just illustrates the point even more.
It's important to remember, however, that having a lot of 7* LS will certainly help with platoon missions, which can be vital to actually being successful in later waves of those combat missions. Gear and level seem to be far less important, though. "Whindanser;c-1232471" wrote:

Why is galactic power important?
It will be an important part of TB
I realize that...but what makes it important
You need Territory Points to get stars. Deploying a character gives you a number of Territory Points equal to the deployed character's Galactic Power. You can use it in combat or platoons to get even more Territory Points, but just deploying is sufficient to give you some.
