Sims 2 legacy - suddenly crashing no error message

Hi, I’ve been playing The Sims 2 without any problems for several months, but suddenly it started crashing. It began with the game crashing when my Sim was returning home from a community lot, and when I restarted the game, the house was no longer visible on the neighborhood map. When I tried to load the family again, the game crashed.

I switched to a new family and everything seemed fine until a Sim’s face suddenly disappeared and the game crashed again. I thought the save had become corrupted, so I chose a completely new neighborhood to play in, but it crashed immediately again.

Now the game crashes at launch. I have tried removing the Downloads folder, but it continues to crash. I have reinstalled the game twice. I am using the Sims2RPC Mod Launcher for Mansion & Garden. When I put the Downloads folder back in, the game crashes. I have tried the 50/50 method, but it seems like it corrupts the entire game, because the game continues to crash even after I remove the files again.

Hi I don’t have a solution, but I’ve been having the same issue. My sims faces are also disappearing  after changing their appearance and the game crashes when I go to community lots 😭

I am having the same problems. Whenever I exit a family to go into the neighborhood, it would crash. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, saving before exiting the family (the game would crash and reset to before the lot was loaded), and repairing the game through the EA app. I want to keep playing The Sims 2, but not when the game keeps crashing every time I exit a family.

try deleting the cache files. The Sims are located in Documents in the “The Sims 2 Legacy” folder, where you will find “groups.cache” and “Accessory.cache.”

Otherwise, try repairing your game with the EA app and reinstalling it if necessary.

I have done those things and deleted my mods, but the problem still persists.

Could you please try generating a new user folder? You can do this by renaming or moving the The Sims 2 Legacy folder in your documents.

I also don't have a solution, but running into the same issue. Random bugs and crashing - the worse of which is that when I save, then exit a lot, then come back to it the game resets as if it's the first time I've loaded it. It's really strange because any skills, career advancement, age up are retained along with memories, but the lot itself resets. One other major issue with this is I had a puppy join my household. I saved the lot, then exited. A crash happened and when I loaded the household back up the dog was gone. I shudder to think what might happen if one of my families had a new baby.

this is happening to me too💔 the games been crashing when I load university. Now it crashes when my sims go to a place like downtown for a date?? This never happened before idk what to do
