Just keeps "connecting" forever - Macbook air

I have had this problem for about a week now. When I start the game, it works fine until I get to the point where I am supposed to chose which household to play, but it just keeps "connecting" forever, and I cannot get trough. I even let it sit trough the night once, and the next morning it was still "connecting" in the way you see in the picture i took.

After the first time this happened I tried everything I could think of, and noticed that after i pressed "repair" when managing the games in the EA-app, the thing you see in the other picture would pop up, even though I thought I lost that game, and that popping up is the only thing I have seen of it - it is also much blurrier then the rest of the app. But after I did all the things the support-people (2 different ones, actually, because nothing helped), I knew time and again that it would not work because that thing kept popping up. I even bought another add-on, to see if that could help (far-fetched, I know, but these games seem to be moody sometimes, maybe they just wanted more). It did not - surprise, surprise.

Also, when it stops at "connecting" I have to restart the mac, and "force" the sims and ea app to close, to even be able to close the game - if not it just keeps on "connecting" forever (which I am quite tired of writing now, after all those support-messages btw). Since I broke my leg and is forced to stay still for once anyway, I would love to actually be able to build some things..

The support-people sent my case to the Bug-team, so I really hope something will come of it, but if anyone have any good advice on this, I would love the input. Thanks!

  • IldVannJordLuft  Please go into Applications Utilities, open Keychain Access, search for sims3 , and delete any entries you see.  Then try again to play, this time without signing in.

I did not have any password saved for the sims 3, and that is another thing; I cannot sign into the sims, only the EA app before the sims 3 - it will not allow me to sign into the sims 3 after - it have not done that for a couple years now, even when the game still worked.

  • IldVannJordLuft  Your password for Sims 3 is the same as your password for any other EA site or app.  Clearing the data in Keychain Access keeps the game from trying to connect automatically as it's doing now.  So please clear that data.

  • Omg no same because I’ve been having this exact same problem with my Mac air too I tried getting steam and playing there linked accounts btw and still I have to buy the game on steam and packs and everything even tho I have it on the EA app. I really hope you get the answer to the problem

  • weird_lizzy09  I'm not sure what your setup is here, so I'll just say that the Steam version of Sims 3 is Windows-only, but you can register the product codes (called CD Keys) Steam gives you in the EA App, and then your content will show in the App and be available for you to download just as if you'd bought it directly from EA.  The reverse doesn't work though—to own the game in Steam, you need to buy it in Steam.

The connecting issue in this thread has nothing to do with Steam.  If you want to fix it, clear the Keychain Access data as described above.
