- I'm actually glad it's gone. I really liked that in the Sims 2 when you went to eat, or went to a club it was packed with other Sims. On the Sims 3 the lots were mostly always empty and that really annoyed me. So yeah, I'm glad it's gone.
- I'm fine with no open world if the trade off is that we'll get restaurants, stores, and other community lots that aren't rabbit holes. I'll have to see what it's like in-game, but what it sounds like now is a decent trade, with a public area that doesn't require zoning, so your sim can leave their house and go to the park without having to incur a loading screen. That will help keep me from feeling as though my Sims are "trapped" on a single lot.
- I am soooo glad it's gone. There were so many problems with the open world. Hopefully the loading screens will make gameplay a lot smoother.
- Totally fine for me :)
I mean I like the open world concept in TS3 even though it creates certain issues which requires certain mods to be fixed ;)
But I am not unfamiliar with a closed world concept since I actually did play TS2 before TS3. I think both are great :#
Also, from what I have seen (and read) it will actually be more open than it was in TS2! - I'd happily give up that open world for being able to go to a bar or something and have my sim talk to someone other than the bouncer or the bartender.
- I like how the park actually looks like a park. Sims 3 parks were really sad. I hope the neighborhoods allow you to visit neighbors without loading screens.
- It doesn't bother me at all. I am hoping the game will run more smoothly without it.
- I dont mind losing the open world if it means more populated lots. I hate how empty my towns always feel...how I send a sim to a lot and then no one is there. After a while a couple people show up but my sims often feel like they are living in a ghost town. Its sad when a dance club only has a bartender and one lonely person on the dance floor. So if not having an open world fixes that, I am good.
- zombie_kaylaNew SpectatorHonestly I think I might possibly miss the open world, but if it means that my game won't lag as much then I'll be extremely happy. I liked going around the world in TS3 but it created havoc on my computer. I don't care about a loading screen. I was fine with it in TS2 so I'll be fine with it in TS4. I guess I just have to play it to be absolutely sure though.
- Lack of rabbit holes is pleasing, so no, for me not having an open world isn't a big issue. The only time that I would go to the place of employment or to the school in the sim 3 was to get the sim to jog or ride their horse home. I'm pretty sure that I can accomplish the same thing with jogging at the park or in the neighbourhood. Taking a quick trip around the house a couple of times will work too. As for the loading screen, it just gives me time to very quickly, very quickly grab that thing to eat or to drink from the fridge. I like how the sims 4 looks and the way we push and pull our sims to make them into what we want them to be. We'll have to wait and see how I feel about the game itself until after it launches. :)
