Ancient Roman-Inspired Build/Buy Mode Content
Recently, I’ve been trying to build a Roman domus in the style of ancient patrician houses. However, I realized that there’s a significant lack of Build/Buy Mode content suited to this historical and artistic theme.
Right now, there are very few classical statues, no fresco-style wall patterns and barely any furnishings that reflect that period.
Considering the cultural richness and visual beauty of Ancient Rome, I believe this setting deserves more in-game representation.
I would love to give some specific ideas for what could be included:
- Architectural elements:
– Rounded Roman arches
– Fluted columns and pilasters (both structural and decorative)
– Courtyard structures and peristyles
– Wall niches for statues and oil lamps
– Terracotta or marble roof tiles - Wall and floor patterns:
– Fresco-inspired wall murals (e.g., mythological scenes, floral motifs, Pompeii-style designs)
– Mosaics for floors and fountains
– Stuccoed or stone-textured walls in Roman color palettes (ochre, red, white, black) - Furniture:
– Roman couches (lectus), low tables, marble benches
– Simple wooden stools, carved chairs with curved legs
– Decorative storage chests with bronze details
– Dining and lounging furniture in the triclinium style - Décor and objects:
– Marble and bronze statues (gods, emperors, mythological figures)
– Amphorae, urns, clay jars
– Oil lamps, wall-mounted torches
– Fountains with lion-head spouts or classical basins
– Roman-style garden elements (hedges, pergolas, topiary) - Build features:
– Atrium-style open roofs with central impluvium (water basin)
– Symmetrical floor plans with indoor gardens (hortus)
– Tall wooden doors and small round windows
I think this kind of content would greatly enrich the creative possibilities for players interested in historical or artistic builds, while also offering something unique and culturally meaningful.
I’d be happy to share reference images, if helpful.
