Basegame & DLC content always lacks complete sets for builders🥺

I appreciate the new base game update, but there's one persistent issue I find frustrating. 😒

Custom content creators consistently offer complete sets, and this should be the standard for all content provided by the Sims developers in the base game and every DLC pack. I'm tired of incomplete sets; they detract from the joy of building in the Sims. I'm sure many builders share this sentiment.🥺

The Creator Kits demonstrate that complete sets, even within a limited scope, are achievable. We've seen complete sofa sets and lights (for all wall heights). So why can't EA/Maxis make this the norm?🤔If EA/Maxis won't start doing it, may the new competitors on the market do understand our desire?

Completing incomplete sets shouldn't fall to CC creators or the modding community. Additional content that complements existing sets is fine, but basic completeness should be a given.🫡

For example, I love the new doors and windows, but:

  • Why aren't they available for all wall heights? (It's been far too long since City Living introduced anything new for the third wall height.)
  • Why aren't the meshes aligned properly with their intended wall height?

Why are there often missing color swatches, and why do they sometimes fail to match objects within the same set? (While this has improved over the years, it still occurs. These issues shouldn't take years to resolve.)

I sincerely hope the Sims team will prioritize providing complete sets and become more consistent, especially when offering content in different styles. Consider these examples:

  • Beds: Double, Single, Toddler, and Infant beds—all age stages should be represented.
  • Kitchen Sets: Appliances, Tables, Chairs, Bars, and Dining tables (single, double, and long).
  • Furniture Sets: Especially Sofa sets, including Armchairs, Loveseats, and Sofas.
  • Curtains: Available for all wall heights.
  • Lights: Available for all wall heights, but also matching wall and floor lights.
  • Windows/Doors: Available for all wall heights.

Adjusting a base mesh for different styles to create complete sets shouldn't be overly difficult with modern 3D software. This is a question of mindset and setting the norm. It wouldn't require that much extra effort but this would give us the freedom to design a certain style more cohesive. And it would for sure make customers happy.😉🤗😍

I know this is wishful thinking, but this issue genuinely bothers me. Whenever we get a new DLC I want to build something specific. I'm often missing crucial items.

Because the game frequently falls short in this area, I use custom content to achieve cohesive and matching designs. Without CC, I probably wouldn't play. However, thanks to the new Creator Kits and some complete sofa sets, I've started building more in the Sims. But creator kits - and here we go again fall short in this category when we talk about sets with a specific style for the build/buy catalog.

Imagine how much better it would be if complete sets were the standard across the board! Wouldn't that be fantastic?😍 I would be starstruck and more willing to pay the full price for a DLC. 😉

How do you feel about the sets we have so far that are incomplete? Especially if you compare it to the recent Creator Kits within their limitations and your knowledge of how CC Creators deliver more complete sets.

  • With their collaborations with CC Creators, I have personally wondered if they would ever consider teaming up with a small group of CC Creators who would be able to (or actually already have) put in the attention and detail to fill this gap for the game officially.

  • Complete kitchen cabinet and counter set. Some packs like realm of magic came with new counters, but no cabinets.

Complete living room set: armchair, love seat, sofa, coffee table, end table, fireplace, wall, table, and floor lamps.

Complete build set: 1 and 2 tile single exterior door, double exterior door, 1 and 2 tile single interior door, double interior door, sliding door for patio/balcony, and door arches (in all wall heights).

Complete bathroom set: some packs like horse ranch come with a tub and shower, but no toilet.

Complete bedroom set: sets should come with both a wardrobe and dresser. Also, EA started introducing hanging clothes and clothes racks. They need to add a kit for a built - in closet with folding doors, wall inserts, clothes racks, hat stands, etc. In addition to hanging clothes that function as dressers, I'd like to see folded clothes piles that function as a dresser.

Parenthood is one of the most mixed matched packs. There is very little continuity among the build mode items.
