Welcome to The Sims 4: Roots & Rhythms, an expansion pack that introduces the vibrant culture, rich traditions, and breathtaking landscapes of the Caribbean islands to The Sims 4. From new careers and island activities to a variety of flavorful dishes, this expansion will allow players to fully immerse their Sims in the laid-back yet lively Caribbean lifestyle.
New Careers:
Calypso or Band Musician – Sims can master steel pan drumming, form reggae or soca bands, and perform at island festivals with custom choreography. As they rise to fame, they unlock exclusive performance venues and new musical interaction.
Resort Manager – Sims can run luxurious island resorts, manage staff, create custom vacation packages, and upgrade their resorts with pools, spas, and beachfront dining to attract more tourists and earn bigger profits.
Lum (Rum) Distiller – Sims can craft and refine different types of rum, manage a distillery, create signature blends, and sell their products to bars, festivals, and tourists. As they advance, they unlock exclusive rum recipes, distillation equipment, and even the option to start their own branded rum company.
Event Planner- Sims can organize and manage extravagant island events, from beachfront weddings and lively Carnivals to exclusive resort parties. They’ll work with clients, book entertainment, and decorate venues to create unforgettable experiences. Higher-level planners can unlock VIP event planning, hire famous DJs and performers, and gain access to exclusive decor items and event customization options.
New Activities for Sims:
Carnival & Parades – Sims can participate in an annual Caribbean Carnival, dress in colorful costumes, dance to live music, and join parade floats.
Sailing & Fishing Competitions – Compete against locals in traditional fishing tournaments or learn to sail small boats across the turquoise waters.
Start Your Own Band – Sims can form their own bands, recruit members, write songs, and perform at local venues. As their band gains popularity, they can go on tour, release albums, and headline major festivals.
Create Your Own Festivals – Sims can design and host their own island festivals, choosing the theme, music, food stalls, and activities. Festivals can range from music celebrations to cultural heritage events, drawing in crowds and increasing the reputation of the host Sim.
Street Dancing & Dance Battles – Master traditional dances like bachata, dancehall, and salsa, then compete in lively dance-offs.
Rum Tasting & Cocktail Crafting – Mix and sample tropical cocktails like mojitos, piña coladas, and rum punch at island bars.
Island Boat Tours – Take scenic boat trips to nearby islands, explore hidden caves, or relax on a floating tiki bar.
Jamaican Inspired Raft Rides - Iconic island raft tours where players can take their Sims on an immersive raft experience through the lush island wildlife
Zip Lining – Sims can experience the thrill of zip lining through lush tropical forests, soaring above waterfalls and breathtaking island landscapes. They can compete for speed records, take scenic photo ops mid-flight, and unlock special tricks as they gain experience.
Festival Fire Dancing – Learn the art of fire dancing and perform at nighttime beach parties. (go deeper into fire dancing)
Cliff Diving – Sims can test their bravery by diving off breathtaking island cliffs into the crystal-clear waters below. Different heights and difficulty levels unlock new diving animations, and daring Sims can even compete in cliff diving competitions for fame and rewards.
Building a Float – Sims can design and build their own parade floats for Carnival. They can choose themes, decorate with lights and vibrant fabrics, and even add music and dancers. Once completed, floats can be showcased in parades, earning Sims recognition and festival rewards.
