I don't necessarily have a problem with occults having preexisting prejudices that make sense in the lore built for the game. That reflects the nature of beliefs and personalities. But I do think that, for individual relationships, there should be something deeper that allows those prejudices to be overcome and minds to be changed. That is, after all, a part of gameplay storytelling that a lot of us do. If we can use a retraiting potion or a midlife crisis to change the personality of a Sim, I feel like there should also be a way to adjust biases against occults, which would directly relate to this point. Maybe, for example, a Fairy Sim starts off hating Spellcasters, but then falls in love with one, and over time moderates their views? And in exchange, the Spellcaster is respectful of Fairy viewpoints on magic? That would make sense. I feel like this could mostly be done by a simple series of belief toggles / switches in the backend, which could then be influenced by a player being given like / dislike controls for the different occults. So for example, a Fairy starts with Spellcasters in the Dislike category, but this could be changed by the player to Neutral or Like. That might solve this problem and add more dimension to the gameplay.
