I like your expansion pack idea, it would add character and it's an untapped aesthetic. Would really like to explore the world you describe. Your Construction Career could offer new and unique gameplay.
A similar idea I had was for a Construction Kit that would tie in perfectly with your pack. Working upon your idea, Construction gameplay could involve hammering on the Exposed Studs Fence to build the Drywall version that we're used to placing. Since each Drywall segment costs §60, maybe the Exposed Studs wall could cost §25 and you have to finish building it. Perfect for Rags to Riches and brings more realistic gameplay.

For Plumbing and Electrical - Maybe when you place appliances, they don't work until you click on them and "Connect to Plumbing" and "Connect to Electricity".
And yes! Reptile terrariums please! Like Fruitcake, Sims could either love Reptiles or be squeamish around them. New Fear unlocked: Fear of Reptiles, where you have to hold one while Confident to get over the Fear.

Glad you like it! and I love your ideas! I would like to think the careers would come with a lot of new woodworking table recipies, I have tried out a playthrough recently and there are several iteams your sim can still not create, like you can create a bathroom (excluding sink and shower) and a dinning room, you can also create a living room and bedroom with fabrication skill, but not kitchen stuff?
I would love if sims with a low level handiness could create shotty connection points, like if your sim connects the plumbing badly, your toilet would have a higher chance of breaking, giving you more insentive to upgrade it.
I love the idea that some sims would have a natural fear for reptiles! either it being being a random gained fear or a trait, like coward or tied to squeamish.honestly ou could really make a full DIY pack if you really wanted to push the idea, adding like a new metal working skill and glass blowing skill.

Yes, I agree. This pack could open the door to separate Woodworking from the Handiness skill and offer more wood furniture recipes to furnish each room, offering both shoddy and polished versions of each object.
Always thought Handiness should be tied to Upgrades. Maybe treat Handiness like Gourmet Cooking, where you start off on Practicing Handiness on woodworking table, but then you can branch off into Upgrades to advance the skill.
I remember enjoying Glass Blowing from Sims 3 and your pack would be a good pack for it to make a return.
