kayeslife there's advice on crashing problems in the troubleshooting steps for consoles if you'd like to take a look and see if they help with your game. I know crashing can be very frustrating especially when you've added new content. I've found these steps to be really useful on console, I'm on Xbox Series X. The African culture items weren't in a pack, you should be able to find them in build mode and in create a Sim as base game items. In CAS the new clothing is at the bottom for me. So for example the new jumpsuit is in Full Body and is right near the bottom of the Full Body items for me next to the new Beaverbrook Ballet Dress. I've listed where to find the new build items. I had trouble finding some, especially the Wallu Woven basket because it's in Sculptures where I didn't expect it to be. I ended up using the search function to locate them by name.
