Sims doing home cleaning

Like Mowing the lawn, watering the lawn and plants.

Washing the curtains windows/ shower, blankets, rugs, towels pillow (that's one thing I loved about Sims 3 they also was like the bed sheets smell fresh and clean.) couch covers.

I'm probably asking for too much now but Shampoo the floor or carpet.

The pet beds.

  • I'd just like it if they could fix the microhome inability to vacuum bug. I have to remove the bed everytime my sim needs to vacuum. Be lovely if they could fix that and then maybe add more functions. I remember being able to trim hedges in previous games and stuff like that. Mowing the lawn might be a fun thing to add as just something 'around the house'.

There's plenty of cleaning chores in the game already, maybe you don't have the necessary packs for them if you don't see them in your game. Vacuuming floors comes with Bust the Dust kit. Mopping floors is basegame. Watering plants and weeding them is again, basegame. You can repair stuff when it gets broken. You can clean furniture, appliances and plumbing fixtures when they get dirty, you can give your sims neat trait if you want them to clean all the time. If you have seasons installed you can mop mud puddles, rake leaves, shovel snow. You can brush and wash pets, and clean stable, barn, chicken coop, etc. with Cats and Dogs EP, Horse Ranch EP, and Cottage Living EP.  If you have Businesses and Hobbies you can water indoor plants. With laundry pack sims can do laundry. I think there is quite a lot of chores in game already.  Do miss the unmade beds from previous games, now all sims seem like such neat freaks.

  • Honestly, I would love more realistic home cleaning in The Sims too. It would add so much to the everyday life aspect of the game.

Things like washing curtains, changing bed sheets, cleaning windows, vacuuming carpets, mopping floors, and washing pet beds would make homes feel more lived-in. Even small details like fresh sheets or a clean-smelling room (like you mentioned from Sims 3) added a nice touch because it made the house feel cared for.

I’d especially like better floor and carpet cleaning options. Having Sims vacuum rugs, deep clean carpets, mop different floor types, or even hire professional cleaners for bigger jobs would be a cool feature.

Outdoor chores would be fun too; mowing lawns, watering plants, cleaning patios, and maintaining gardens would make the homeownership side feel more complete.

The only issue is they’d probably need to make sure it doesn’t become a boring daily chore. Maybe make it optional, with cleaning skills, better appliances, or hired services for Sims who don’t want to spend all day doing housework.

But yeah, more realistic cleaning details would definitely make homes feel less like decorated boxes and more like actual homes. 😄
