Too many Fridges

I'm confused as to why this issue was marked as 'solved' when the core problem is still existing - people are receiving this error message on lots with just 1 fridge. There is nothing to remove in those cases. This needs further review.

However, as a work around, you can still click on the fridge to initiate cooking and will be able to have as many fridges on the lot as you'd like. The limitation stems from cooking from the stove.

When was this design change introduced? The house I am currently using, which has the issue, has had more than two fridges on the lot since I built it in 2022. I have only been unable to cook on the stoves since the September update. Although I can select the fridge, which offers me the option to cook, my sim then cooks using the stove.

I have another house I built in 2019 that also has more than two fridges, and the stoves always worked there. I returned to this lot to see if I was experiencing the same problem, and now I cannot use the stoves on it either. While the design might not have intended to allow more than two fridges, which should have been clearly communicated, it makes no sense that it worked until the 2025 update—six years after I built the 2019 house?

I have also downloaded lots from the gallery where a 64 x 64 lot has more than one house built on it, usually four or five, which would mean four or five fridges, and the stoves on these worked. This is not solved, as it seems a design change has altered gameplay.

I also got this error after having played some of the latest event (Forever Friends) before starting the event I had no issues

We are aware this is designed. We are aware how it works. We are aware of the "workaround". Thats not why we are here. Please explain why this limitation exist. Thats why we all are criticizing this.

Whats unclear is why such an unreasonable mechanic exists. Nobody asked for this and I cant think of one good reason why we must be limited to two fridges per lot.

EA_Solaire​ I'm a bit perplexed by a refrigerator limit of 2. I can think of four examples of times I may add more than two refrigerators on a lot...

1. I occasionally add two refrigerators in the kitchen in a household with serious cookers (especially if one or more is currently working on an aspiration where they cycle through a lot of cooking in queue), as this can help prevent either the cooker or another household member (or the ranch hand or butler - or even some non-household sims who access the refrigerator) from blocking each other's actions, which sometimes leads to chaos or problems... Plus if they have a basement or other area on the lot where they entertain I sometimes add a mini-fridge there. So, in this case that would be 3 refrigerators. Do you mean they will now not be able to cook on the lot?
2. I am currently working on a lot that will have three small homes on the same lot. I was figuring it would work for use as rental units, cabins (for a large household's vacation rental), or to play a household with the goal of including a roommate in one home or merged family members who have shared areas with separate housing for their own kitchen/small living room/bedroom. In this case each of the three small homes has it's own kitchen - and I may even want a mini-fridge in a backyard 'covered area with a table and grill' for common use. So, can I assume this lot will not be functional now to cook in?
3. I have several homes with a home business on the lot where they sell cooked/baked goods. In this type of home I will frequently add two refrigerators in the home's main kitchen(for the reasons stated in #1), plus I may add a basement kitchen room under the business/store room where employees can also cook/bake items for the home business.
4. Can I assume that rental property is not affected by this restraint? For instance, I previously made a townhouse with three units on it. Would cooking still work in that case?

I'm very glad I saw this post, as I would have been tearing my hair out trying to figure out what's going on.

I don't think this issue should be closed, this was never a problem until the last update/new pack. Also, you can clearly see at least 4 fridges in the cooking competition scene from the official EA Adventure Awaits game play video...

I can't imagine the development team specifically changing the game to disallow a maximum of 2 fridges per lot, this is a bug. 

I’m a console player, no mods or cc and I have the same issue. Apparently it’s a well known bug that if more than 2 fridges are or any lot, it’ll default to not allowing anyone to cook 

I am having the same issue with my cooking competition getaway using the new Adventure Awaits pack, Sims can bake but can't cook if there are more than 2 refrigerators. 

This has never been an issue in the past as I have made numerous cooking schools with Business & Hobbies and each cooking area had it's own fridge. 

Same message appears in a new save with no mods/noCC/scripts off and using all base game appliances. 

This is happening to me too and I only have one fridge on the lot! I do have retail displays to sell food items.
