Acting Career, So Many Bugs!
I came back to play Sims4 recently. I played the acting career before and loved it, so I thought I would play it again. Well, now, for whatever reason, there are so many bugs it is making this more of a chore, pain, and aggravation than the entertainment it is meant to be.
I do not play with any mods. None.
Auditions do not register. I am able to schedule them, my sim goes, comes home, and it still shows the audition pending. I have to save, exit, reload. That is a workaround. A real solution would be to fix this bug. I had a few successful auditions but the last three have been like this.
Co-Stars leaving the lot. This seems to be a fairly prevalent issue that still has not been fixed.
And now, the latest and greatest bug - No Director on set!?!!? How is this even possible!? I tried saving, going to menu, reload. Still no Director. This is not a new or uncommon issue, as I searched online and found others experiencing it. One solution was too switch control to another Sim then switch back. My option to do this is grayed out. I cannot go to Manage Worlds during an event (which an acting gig is). Do I need to do some sort of cheat? Which I despise doing, as I generally just enjoy playing Sims 4 vanilla - no mods, no cheats, etc.
So, basically, I cannot advance the gig. I have not even done enough to get a bronze, and I am stuck, because the only tasks I have are to interact with the Director.
Update - I just checked my relationships, because I remember having to get to know the Director before the gig. I see the sim on set, but she is listed as a Producer, not the Director, and I cannot find any interaction that lets me advance the gig with her.
What is going on with this?
It seems that some patch or update has broken the acting career. Well done, Maxis ...
Update #2 - Again with the audition.
I am at the point where I can skip auditions, so I call in, choose one, then it still shows me as having no gig. I have to save, go to main menu, resume to get it to show up.
This is really silly and sad, as I know it worked well before.
