Baby's parents are not his parents?

My sim got pregnant and had her baby at the hospital. When she got home as soon as I could I aged up the newborn to infant. I quickly realized upon interacting with the infant one of very few options I had was "Adopt sim". I tried it with both parents but now adopting him is no longer an option and they still aren't his parents. He's hungry and I can't feed him. I noticed this issue last night so I've already saved. What do I do???

    Did you try playing as the infant and have them "smile at" the parents?

    This worked, but I just noticed my sim is still pregnant in the 3rd trimester.

    Glitch in the matrix…? 🤣

    Was it the rabbit hole hospital, or going with her via Get to Work? Did you notice any Sims resetting around the birth, or have an LE generated?
